^ While in the midst of ripping the Walt Disney Company, why has this fact and comment been ignored?

 

Lil kb loves the playhouse disney shows, and I haven't heard any f-bombs or sex jokes on Higgleytown Heroes, Little Einsteins, or Bunnytown lately.

So, let me get this straight. Parents are now looking to Nick and Disney to teach their children morals? Sorry, but I don't buy it. Television is about ENTERTAINMENT, not morality. Granted, I am not for allowing my children to watch rated R movies or anything like that, but I have no problems whatsoever with Nick or Disney as far as their content. The song is just that, a song. The name of the band is harmless.

 

If you watch the food network, there is a show called The Naked Chef. Does that mean that I shouldn't let my children watch the food network now?

 

If parents want to go that far, the why do we allow children to watch Looney Toons? They might then think it would be alright to hit each ther with Acme anvils, or that they can fall off of a cliff and walk away from it.

 

I understand that parents are concerned about what their children watch and learn, but some people are just reaching a little too far, IMO.

I understand what most people are saying... There is no reason for Disney to do this...

 

But at the same time, I have heard the Aladin thing with my own ears... So I don't know...

How old are your children? Mine are younger but I don't let them watch Disney after 10am, b/c the older shows come on. Although when the disney classics are on I let them watch that. But I have found that Noggin is GREAT for little children. Channel 335 is 24/7 age appropiate shows. My son who is almost 4, thinks that the older shows are cool but I do notice a slight behavior issue after watching them, only b/c he then thinks he is bigger. But really, if you as a parent teach them the good values and morals. The shows/music shouldn't cause any problems.

Yeah I've noticed that. I see shows that are teenage themed, with strong sexual context. Also, if I recall seeing stuff like this on, "The Family Channel"...

 

But as far as the Naked Brothers Band- never heard of them.

Boy I know when I was a kid "Parents Just Don't Understand" made me go out and wreck my Dad's new sports car! That wonky DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince darn near ruined my life! And don't get me started on the Beastie Boys "You Gotta Fight for Your Right to Party." i mean as a kid I just immediately began to forgo my homework and blaze up some doobies. And can you imagine I used to watch Kids Incorporated where kids sang SECULAR music that was popular at the time? How I managed not be in the Army of Satan is simply anyone's guess.

 

Jeez people. Kids are not tools and the song is meant to be fun and funny. Sometimes I wonder about our country. Scratch that. I don't wonder, I know- we are all screwed.

 

There are far more important things in life to protect your kids from than a band that plays that "music with a beat" on Nick and has "naked" in their name.

My daughter was watching The Disney Channel when they played a video by a band that they created for a tv show. The band was "The Naked Brothers Band". I am not too fond of the name by the way. Anyway, the song was titled, "I Don't Want To Go To School".

 

What kind of message is Disney sending to our kids?

 

I must say, I thought this was not appropriate for a kids television program.
