Whether or not any of us agree with his or his families politics I would have to say that the Kennedy family has certainly given a great deal to our nation over the years including the very ultimate sacrifice by oldest brother Joe in WWII and the murders of JFK and RFK. It seems as though this family has been a charmed family in status and wealth but at what cost. Tradgedy after tradgedy this family has suffered and thru it all those that are left continue to fight for what they believe and put their money where their mouths are.

Do I agree with everything Ted Kennedy does and says? Absolutely not but a great many owe a great deal to he and his family..A true American Statesman who deserves everyones prayers.

How does it compare to Ted naming his Portuguese water dog Splash? Do you think that Mary Jo Kopechne's family saw any humor there?

I have many problems with Ted Kennedy and have said so many times on here. I will have to echo cville's statement when I say that my prayers go out to him and for his health. I do not want to see anyone suffer from any type of illness.

Although not a stroke, I know what suffering from an illness is and would not wish it on anyone.

ACE, lets stick to the topic ok? agian, the joke was in poor taste. I know a few people who have named their pet Splash, coincidence that Kennedy named his Splash? Possibly. Are you 100% sure he named the dog that as reference to her? I don't think so, and neither do you or anyone else. People are too quick to judge anything anyone does anymore. But to make a joke about a dead girl when someone could have very well have had a life threatening condition? WRONG!

 

Hey, most know I can't stand Bush, I dislike him about as much as anyone can, but I would never want to see him injured or seriously sick/ill, I would be one of the first praying for a speedy recovery for him, as well as anyone else.

C'mon Ace, like I said I have many,many problems with him myself and really do not like the man at all but this thread is about a man that has had what is now believed to be seizures and was originally feared a possible stroke and not about his stand on things. Sorry, but I do not believe in whitewashing somebody's life history because they are ill. Mary Jo Kopechne is dead because of Ted Kennedy and he eluded justice because of his personal wealth, political power, and family connections. The fact that so many people are willing to overlook Kennedy's killing of Kopechne to express moral outrage at a joke speaks volumes to me.

If Ted's last name were Smith we wouldn't be having this conversation because he would probably still be in prison. I will not wish ill fate on Ted but at the same time I will not pray for Ted.

I don't care who it is, democrat, republican, white, black, Christian or non-Christian, I will pray for everyone, I am pretty sure Jesus would want it that way as well.

He has a malignant tumor in the left parietal lobe.

The fact that so many people are willing to overlook Kennedy's killing of Kopechne to express moral outrage at a joke speaks volumes to me.
