This could turn out to be a deal. A lot of debate going around about us drilling at home, I think once we average out over 4.00 it will be authorized but I see gas 3.25 to 4.50 for the near future.

Agreed- but what would happen if Chrysler went out of business?
May 9, 200818 yr I don't see what the big deal is about gas prices. People complain about $3.00 for a gallon of gas, yet they say nothing about $1.50 for a 16.9oz bottle of water. THink about it.

You're talking about 2 different kinds of goods. Most people HAVE to have gas. They don't necessarily have to have a bottle of water.

May 9, 200818 yr And all these years I thought you had to have water to live. Other ways to get water.
May 9, 200818 yr And all these years I thought you had to have water to live. You don't have a source of water other than buying expensive bottled water?
May 9, 200818 yr I notice from the link that they limit the number of gallons for each model covered under the program to the amount they calculate you would need to drive 12,000 miles per year for three years. That amounts to about 2400 gallons for the least fuel efficient Ram pickups. If you assume an average gas price of $4.00/gal, the cost of the program to Chrysler for this type of vehicle is $2400. That's a pretty low-cost incentive for them (compared to cash incentives on full-size pickups that can easily reach $4-5K). It will be interesting to see if this program does anything to help their sales.

You would hear more complaining if people had to buy the bottled water and had to buy it 20 gallons at a time.
May 9, 200818 yr You don't have a source of water other than buying expensive bottled water? What can I say, I"m high maintenance.
May 9, 200818 yr You would hear more complaining if people had to buy the bottled water and had to buy it 20 gallons at a time. No doubt people will always complain about something.
May 9, 200818 yr No doubt people will always complain about something. Should they not be complaining? You can get free water from a water fountain, or pay practically nothing for tap water. But most of us HAVE to pay these ridiculous prices for gas because we have jobs. In order to get to my job I have to drive to the other side of town (thank God I got a job that's only a couple miles away). Some people have to drive to and from school, it all adds up and is starting to effect peoples' lives. Some people can no longer afford to go on trips, some people are having to get jobs closer to home, prices for pretty much everything are going up because of the cost to transport the goods. I have to drive from Richmond to Versailles about twice a week and it's starting to eat at my wallet. Comparing gas to bottled water is nowhere near the same. If need be, you can not be so "high-maintenance" and drink tap water, but currently we have no other ways to get gasoline and it's hurting a lot of people.
