Gillespie's only true signed recruit in 2 years?

Featured Replies

There is no chance that Darius Miller would be here if Tubby was the coach.

Patterson would not be at UK either.

I agree with this. But, I know that with assistant coach Tracy Webster had an impact with Miller signing with UK. If Webster would have stayed at Illinois I wouldn't have been surprised to see Darius there.

I agree with u that it is because of Tracy Webster and not because of BCG,but BCG hired Tracy Webster because he knew he was an excellent recruiter. Tubby's downfall was his assistants were terrible recruiters. If he would have hired some go getters he would still be at UK.

This thread turned out to be a good luck charm.

How many players have signed with or committed to the cats since this thread started ?

Theres the list of players signed so far while Coach G. has been here.

Plus Slone and Delph as walk ons.

I'll take that for a little over a year on the job.

Just had to give him time. It is not a miracle cure recruiting, although it has seemed like every day the last few weeks he signs a guy from a different class. He will go after the grade schoolers next.

Is it Galloway? Tubby, I believe started the ball rolling with Patterson and Miller, don't know about Liggins. Does anyone know for sure(not counting verbals) if Galloway and maybe Liggings were recruited from start to finish by Billy G only?

If you wouldnt mind would you go over to football and start a similar thread?:dancingpa:dancingpa

The most important thing to me is that BCG is a proactive recruiter. I always felt like Tubby was a litte more reactive and put all of his eggs in one basket.

That is a nice list, but most of them are not signed yet. And considering how long some of them have until they will be able to do so, it will take quite a bit of work to keep them all on board. But this is a much better position to be in than we had with Tubby trying to fill the incoming class in July.

I would feel pretty good about all except Vilarino, due to the negative reviews I have been hearing, and Avery because he is an 8th grader from California. Apparently the Zollo's are looking at moving to Kentucky and the rest would seem to have pretty solid ties. You could make an argument for Ross-Miller but something tells me he will stick as well.
