Agreed. But anyone who assumes someone's age based on a statement that wasn't even false (there are SOME honest politicians, just not the major ones) is insulting to the intelligence of someone of an age that is comparable.

 

 

Wasn't meant to be condescending at all. Just think its pretty naive to think that there are politicians who don't lie. They all do; it's the nature of their game. Name me a politician that you honestly believe never told a lie. George Washington...yeah right. In some cases, younger people actually give more thought and energy into researching a candidate than do their brain-locked elders. For God's sake, there are still many people on here that still believe what Bush and Cheney say.

:thumb: Much better. I think Alan Keyes is a pretty straight up guy, but I would be hard pressed to find the one who has never lied.

I wonder why the issue is even brought up since the current Pro-Life President has done nothing but use the issue to get votes. It makes me sick when useless politicians use abortion to get elected and then start a war and kill thousands of innocent people.

:thumb: I beleive that he did and yes, Bush imo was the better cantidate than those two, Al (I-Net) Gore and John (I'll tell you what you want to hear) Kerry. That does not mean that I don't have problems with the way that some things have gone with Bush, I certainly do.

Just that imo at those two elections there was no choice.

Since these appointments what has happened? Uh, nothing.

I will agree Bush did a alot by signing the partial birth abortion ban and he has appointed justices but you dont stop there and thats been way too long ago.

It takes time for the lifetime terms of the Supreme Court Justices to expire. Bush has done all that he can do until and unless another member of the SC retires voluntarily or is removed by natural causes.

 

I do not expect John Paul Stevens or Ruth Bader Ginsburg to remain on the bench very long regardless of the election results, so whoever wins will probably play a big role in setting the direction of the court for the next couple of decades.

I think we need more Christian principles instead of more govt. programs.

I could have taken your comment out of context, but I thought you might be applying to the public school.

We now have a conservative court. The chance was there to do alot more when we had a Republican President, Repubican controlled Congress and the current Supreme Court. You think anything will happen now with this Congress. The children being murdered every day don't have a lifetime like we do. You have to act when you can and that time has passed.

Two votes will swing this court from a conservative court to a liberal one. McCain and the rest of the "Gang of 14" are more to blame for Bush not getting more done than he has. As long as 60 votes were required to get court appointments to the floor for a vote, there was not much Bush could do in that area and the Senate leadersip never even suggested eliminating the 60 vote limit for legislation.

 

Under the circumstances, getting Roberts and Alito both confirmed was an outstanding accomplishment.

Anyone can make excuses for their political party or leader. If they say they are pro-life before the election, then you should at least here about it after the election. I haven't heard anything from this Congress or administration since the partial birth abortion ban was signed. We once again have no one to vote for this fall. We need a new party that uses common sense.
