sportsfan41 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 So it's that time of the year again, I've put a good 300 miles or so on the bike in the past week or two. Who all else rides, what kinda bike?
02Ram54 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 Sport 100th Anniversary edition.
sportsfan41 Posted April 24, 2008 Author Posted April 24, 2008 Nice, what color, you got it out much so far this year?
02Ram54 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Black and silver. Between the beginning of April and the end of October, it's pretty much my primary form of transportation.
HammerTime Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I have been thinking about buying one but I don't know much about them. Any advice? I don't wanna spend anymore than 4K. Street bike not a big cruiser.
John Anthony Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 You know I want too but to me just laying it down and the consequences aren't worth the reward... I don't know.
HammerTime Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 You know I want too but to me just laying it down and the consequences aren't worth the reward... I don't know. I go back and fourth with that everyday. I can't 100% make up my mind yet.

Musketeer_alum97 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I am into older cruisers. I have had an 82 model Suzuki gs 650 and an 80 model gs 1100. I just bought an 83 Yamaha xv 500 Virago to play around on, and my project bike is a 64 model Honda 160 Dream.
Panther091 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 my friend wrecked his tonight actually by hitting a pot hole on 275 doing about 70mph. Thankfully he's ok but the bike is like a pretzel. I don't own one and have no interest anytime soon...too dangerous for me

GatorFan Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Had a 2000 Honda CBR F4i. Would flat out fly, sold it 4 years ago! The fastest that I had it was 140 mph! WOW!
bellalumni40 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I go back and fourth with that everyday. I can't 100% make up my mind yet. I'm the same way. I would love to have one, not to mention they are great on gas mileage. I just can't decide on the risk/reward of getting one. If I did, I think I'd rather have like a Harley, but am pretty sure a street bike would be more affordable.
MBWC41 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I was days away from buying a Harley last year. I already had my loan approved and everything. I then caught wind of Harley's new Rocker that came out this year and decided to wait until next year to buy it. They start out around 16-17000 so I should be able to find one for around 14-15000 by next year. Before that I had seriously considered buying a big dog. I guess it's still an option. 2 of my buddies have them. Those are very nice bikes.
