I believe Coach Ledford went to several youth league games last year, and believe me, the kids noticed!Perhaps coach Ledford and co. could tutor some of the coaches in FYFL.Some of FCHS's coaches are former FYFL coaches and could give some much needed help to the current coaches.

Little pre-mature for a statement like that on paper they look to forming up nicely, but I remember just how good those past groups with Riggs, Mcdonald, Wise, and oh yeah..... Ammons.

 

A very talented bunch for sure,especially Ammons! I think the main reason that team is special to most is the fact that the season before the Flyers were winless under Coach Roberts,then Coach Walker and "The System" came to town and brought back enthusiasm to the program.It is a lot like Pitino and his first teams at UK.If this years bunch at the skill positions have a year as good as last after losing the "4" from last year you can mention them with anybody.I think coach Ledford's line coaching will always make FC be successful as players come and go.That as much as anything has made FC successful,because Ammons or Thompson or anybody can't throw from the ground!:thumb:

I look for the Freshman and JV teams to be better next year as well a nice group of kids lift and run from the Middle school they have about 20 kids who are there every day and have been for 3 or 4 months.

Franklin County Coaching staff put on a nice clinic for the Youth Football league Today, There were only a handful of coaches there, but they learned something maybe it will grow a little next year. I hear the food was outstanding. The Flyer Staff has really made an effort to get involved in the Frankfort Feeder system.

 

I Thought it was great for me going in to my third year coaching I Soaked up so much info the staff and KSU head coach. I agree they should do this more often... I'm not for sure but it may have been the first time doin it but it was nice I plan on being back at the next one.:thumb:

Any definite news on where the first FC games will be played until the new bleachers/press box is done?

Coaches from FCHS were down at the Middle School yesterday promoting for the EMS program and EMS camp in a few weeks. They also took about 60 names of Incoming Frosh. There was a crowd of boys watching the FCHS highlight tape in the lunch room. Hopefully at least half of those kids play.

Yesterday was sign up day for the middle school. They had a very good turn out. We had about 25 kids show up and still more to come when Baseball and track is over. The kids are ready to go. The Kids love seeing there Coach's there waiting to see them. I think Coach Leadford is doing a great job Working with the Head coach Eddie James and they Both are doing a Great job getting these Kids to play. I know it won't be long that coach Leadford will have Coach James up there on his staff. Coach James has got his coaching staff back and it was nice to see them all But one there waiting on the kids. I know my son is looking forward to playing for coach Leadford and his staff. :thumb:

Most fans don't know that last year Deron Hicks had more catches than Colton Riggs the year he recieved all the hype and Kevin Stiles had more than Shane McDonald from the same team, and equaled his TD total while playing the "Y" instead of WR.He (Stiles)also played the whole season with a broken wrist,and is healthy now.:thumb:

 

Those were some mighty fine numbers Riggs and McDonald put up that year. But then again, it helps when you have a gunslinger like Ammons at QB.

Franklin County just completed its EMS camp The FCHS staff, EMS staff and alumni had around 50 kids per day from grades 6-8, the last day they split them up and had about 30 minutes of offensive time with them, these classes are very talented. Hope they all stick to it. The camp was very organized and moved quickly. It ended each day with a competition for skill and lineman.

Will the new bleachers be complete in time for the first game? If not where will the game be played?What does FC look like so far?

FC has a lot of work to do, skill needs to get sharper, line has some kids who need to step up. Especially at Guard and D-line. Depth will be an issue.

 

The bleachers will be up for first game. All games will be played at FCHS this year. If you want to see the bleachers come check them out. I know the boosters are selling chairback seats as a fundrasier to help off-set the cost.

So the Bleachers are done... I heard something that all there game would be played at KSU.

KSU decided not to let the Flyers use the field, so the order was put into to get the bleachers done and the company came through. The sit much better than those ones downtown, hiphop!
