April 15, 200818 yr They play ball all summer. One wrong step or fall and you kiss a $200,00.00 scollay good bye. If the top recruits all got together and refused to sign the LOI, I'm pretty sure the coaches would still honor scholarships of injured players... especially since the NCAA doesn't force it to count against the scholarship limit. If a school didn't still honor the scholarship, they'd be subject to muy mucho bad negative recruiting.

One wrong step or fall and you kiss a $200,00.00 scollay good bye. :thumb: I don't see why a coach would have to commit to a player if he never officially committed to them by signing a LOI. It would be awful for a player to just up and change his mind in August.

MOST kids enroll early for summer sessions, so the ball they are playing is at the school. Head to an AAU event over the next few weekends and see how many 08 kids are on the floor...
April 15, 200818 yr MOST kids enroll early for summer sessions, so the ball they are playing is at the school. Head to an AAU event over the next few weekends and see how many 08 kids are on the floor... Than what is the reason SO MANY DO sign LOI ?
April 15, 200818 yr Than what is the reason SO MANY DO sign LOI ?Like I said... they don't want their spot at a school taken by another top recruit. If they would organize, it wouldn't be a problem.
April 15, 200818 yr Author Than what is the reason SO MANY DO sign LOI ? Mob mentality is the logical answer. All it would take is one or two big time kids bucking the trend...
April 15, 200818 yr Mob mentality is the logical answer. All it would take is one or two big time kids bucking the trend... I would think the heart attack rate among college basketball coaches would sky rocket. :scared::lol:
April 15, 200818 yr Than what is the reason SO MANY DO sign LOI ? To add to 02, it also ends the recruitment of said prep athlete. So no more additional phone calls (unless you are being recruited by Sampson - I had to).
April 15, 200818 yr I think he is waiting to hear more from UK and see if he is going to get offered a scholarship.
April 15, 200818 yr I think he is waiting to hear more from UK and see if he is going to get offered a scholarship. Remember BCG doesn't recruit kids who are committed
April 15, 200818 yr I think he is waiting to hear more from UK and see if he is going to get offered a scholarship. You really don't think they offered one already?
April 15, 200818 yr He's rethinking b/c he really wants to go to UK. Just thought I'd get that out of the way. I think he is waiting to hear more from UK and see if he is going to get offered a scholarship. Took longer than we expected 98...:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
