Young man, first of all pay attention. As earlier stated by Sun Tzu he is a freshman not an eighth grader. As far as I know he could be on Greenup's JV or Varsity baseball team. Here is what I know, in 25 years of watching high school football in this area, this kid was the most polished and poised freshman quarterback I have seen period. What this kid did on the baseball field this past weekend as I watched was impressive no matter what the age level. Good luck young man!

I watched a Russell baseball team over the weekend play in a tournament in South Shore with a kid from Greenup County High School. Rister is his name. Who is this kid? He hit 4 homeruns. 3 left handed and 1 right handed. Is this the same kid that quarterbacked the freshman team at Greenup?

Another question is Why isn't Matt Jones playing GC football? He another very capable quarterback. Competion for positons is always good for the team as the whole. Matt Jones was the Mckell 8grade Quarterback I think.

I coached Matt from 2nd to 6th grade. He played QB for me. He is also a very good RB and could help out in alot of skill positions. I talked to his father last season and he said he thougt Matt would play this year. I havent heard if he has been to any practice's or not.

I think East Carter meant that they could play teams in counties that were congruent to Carter County...i.e. no 2 hour bus trips to Fleming and Mason Counties. All of these issues need to be taken into account with the rising gas prices.

It takes just over an hour to get to Maysville (use the AA) and Flemingsburg (I-64 and 32) from Grayson. Those are the longest treks in their 3A district.

 

It takes about 40 to 50 minutes to get to Morehead and Louisa from Grayson.

 

East Carter does not have geographic concerns in its current district. However, Ashland and Johnson Central have geographic concerns since their district consists of Woodford County and Montgomery County.
