  1. I am curious how many D2 or D3 players our football program has produced over the McGlone era. That would be intersting to me. Whether it is D1 or not, once they pull on a college jersey regardless of the team or level we should be extremely proud as Russell supporters.
  2. As a Russell baseball dad I am very pleased with the direction coach Martino has the program going. I watched some of the younger players this weekend play in a tournament. Coach Martino has some talent coming up. I would hope we could do a better job of supporting some summer baseball here in Russell. We are very close to where the program should be. Great finish!
  3. Young man, first of all pay attention. As earlier stated by Sun Tzu he is a freshman not an eighth grader. As far as I know he could be on Greenup's JV or Varsity baseball team. Here is what I know, in 25 years of watching high school football in this area, this kid was the most polished and poised freshman quarterback I have seen period. What this kid did on the baseball field this past weekend as I watched was impressive no matter what the age level. Good luck young man!
  4. Thanks for the information. I seen this kid play against Russell's freshman team and he had something like 4 passing touchdowns and 1 running i think. A coach who seen him play against Lawrence County freshman said this kid could very well be the 2nd best quarterback in the area behind only his teammate. From your post it seems he is staying at Greenup. I wondered why he was on a Russell baseball team. I thought he may be headed to Russell.
  5. By the tone of your voice i see some doubt in ability. Just for your information. The fences on 3 of the home runs which were left handed were 300 with an 8 foot fence that cleard the fences by at least 30 feet. The fourth homerun which he hit right handed was to left field that is 318 with an 8 foot fence. It was a 15U tournament from what i gathered. Who said the kid was tough? Those are your words not mine. I am sure he appreciates them. Sounds like a couple young men have envy. Just restating the facts. I liked the way this young man carries him self on the football field and baseball field.
  6. I watched a Russell baseball team over the weekend play in a tournament in South Shore with a kid from Greenup County High School. Rister is his name. Who is this kid? He hit 4 homeruns. 3 left handed and 1 right handed. Is this the same kid that quarterbacked the freshman team at Greenup?
