Next on list was Gillispie. Barnes was never offered nor was Pitino and both had releases saying they had no interest in the UK coaching position. The 3 names I am reading/hearing now, for IU, are Montgomery, Kruger, and Brad Brownwell.

Wright State is no IU Barnes was approached by the search firm about UK as was Jay Wright from Villanova. That is as far as it went. UK did not extend a formal offer to Barnes. I even think Jay Wright withdrew from formal consideration from the UK job publicly. Some of the people I have spoken with said that BCG may have been Barnhart's number one choice the entire time but had to go after Donovan and rightfully so.
