I wouldn't be surprised if Elijah Pittman gets to be about 6'8 when his legs catch up to his long arms. He just has that look that he's got room to grow. That will be unbelievable in the coming few years with the Bulldogs and all of their height. They really are building a program worthy of of a state title at Covington Holmes. Most teams (not all) have a much easier time running through the Sweet 16 with an endless bench. They certainly have that and they are the smartest, most unselfish fired up Holmes Bulldogs TEAM I've seen in quite awhile. These cohesive elements and a deep bench can only take them further than they were ever capable of in the recent past. Having seen Rupp's floor last year can't hurt any either. I like their chances. They seem to be clicking on all cylinders right now, and are extremely focused on the ultimate goal that they appear to have developed a mature healthy mentality to face. They're now down to a 1 in 16 chance at taking the big prize, but I think we all know that their chances are way better than that. Wouldn't that be fantastic if all of their hard work finally pays off. :thumb:

I too wouldn't be surprised to see Pittman get to be about 6'7 or 6'8 by the time he's a senior. How do you defend a kid that big who will primarily be out at the top of the key? Along with Ricardo Johnson and J. Johnson who will both probably be 6'6. It's almost impossible. Put a guard on them, they're too small and will get taken to the hole every time or shot over. Put a big man on them and they're too slow. Also not many teams around the state will have the kind of height to match up with all three.

 

Throw in 6'6 freshman Keyvon Arnold who will without a doubt get bigger over the next few years (6'8 or 6'9 maybe) and you have the makings of a team nobody in the state can match up with.

 

If Holmes is going to make any noise at Rupp, IMO it will be the Pittman, Johnson Brothers senior year. This year they have a really good shot, but I like their chances a lot better next year and the following year. As good as Pittman, R. Johnson, and J. Johnson are now, they will be even bigger and better next year and the year after. It's kind of scary to think about how good this bunch really can be.

 

As good as the DJ, Hill, and Rice class of 07 was with Henderson as a junior, I think the class of 10 could be even better.

If your talking bout Eric Thomas he is a senior this year. Conner returns Avery,Chris Lang (suprise player to watch) Tyler Brake, Arron Stephans. I think the key for Conner will be if Jayce Jordan returns to play his senior year due to ACL injury.

 

Thanks for clarifying that, I havent really followed Conner much this past year as far as personnel but I do know that AVery is very athletic and will be a PTP'er by the time he's a senior. The Jordan kid I did hear had a nasty injury and he has high upside as well. With Hicks at the helm, dont count them out.

And they apparently are moving into the 34th district with Dixie, Lloyd, Ludlow and Villa where year in and year out they would have to be considered the 1st or 2nd favorite to win. It will probably also force this district into seeding as I have heard that 3 of the schools are in favorite of that format. If they do seed all I can say is it's about time but there will be one or two people whinning as they always do.:cry::lol:

Are you serious? Do you not know what Holmes returns next year? Also Boone hasn't been preseason #1 in quite a few years. That honor has belonged to either Holmes or Covcath the past few years.

 

See some of the first few posts and then you'll realize Boone will be good next year but Holmes will be on another level with what they have coming back.

Keyvon could very well start varsity next year. It will really depend on whether or not Henley wants to go with a big lineup or not. I think Riley, R. Johnson, J. Johnson, Pittman are locks to start with either Arnold or Dom Johnson getting the final spot.

 

Next year's Holmes team will be one of the better 3 point shooting teams people have seen out of them in a while though. Maybe since Brandon Smith and Ryan Fischer were there lighting it up from outside.
