May 12, 200818 yr Do you take anything with Nano Vapor? I am thinking about trying Nano Vapor for prework out and then a combination of protein and glutamine for post workout. Is this over kill? I take as much protein as possible, but the protein shake I have no is AWFUL (taste wise) so it's hard to make myself take it.
May 12, 200818 yr Eat lots of small meals, drink lots of water, and sweat hard at least once a day. Basically, do a lot of stuff that really no one enjoys doing. Here are some more websites for supplements: http://www.bodybuilding.com - Also has a forum where supplements are discussed frequently. http://www.massnutrition.com - easy to navigate and has frequent specials. http://www.supplementwarehouse.com - Prices can be negotiated on most all supplements. http://www.healthsuperstore.com - just found this one and it seems to be a lot like Mass Nutrition. And believe it or not eBay. I guess you kind of know what I'm talking about. I'm at the level right now where its obvious that I've been hitting it hard in the gym and I have greatly reduced my bodyfat. I'm just looking to get to that next level of really having great muscle definition. I don't mean like a competition bodybuilder or anything, but I guess a level right before that. Does that make sense? When you say eat lots of small meals, are you saying eat 5-6 times a day but make sure they're small meals? Water is all that I drink now for the most part, so I have that one under control and I workout or play basketball pretty much every day of the week. I can step it up a little more in the cardio work, though.
May 12, 200818 yr I take as much protein as possible, but the protein shake I have no is AWFUL (taste wise) so it's hard to make myself take it. I read an article that had a receipe for a shake I think I am going to try... 1 cup low fat vanilla yogurt 2 scoops (2oz) vanilla protein power - 40 grams protein 1 tbsp honey 1 1/2 cup low fat or 1% milk 1 cup orange juice 5 grams creatine monohydrate 5 grams glutamine If I go with the Nano Vapor I will do the above minus the creatine.
May 12, 200818 yr Any suggestions on a brand of Protein and Glutamine? Or are they all pretty much the same?

I know about how old you are, it is very similar to my own age, and I completely understand your goals because they are eerily similar to my own goals. Ironically, I'm also to the point that the small love handles are 99% gone, but not necessarily "cut-up". I'm taking things slow because I don't want to lose strength at all. My goal is convert body fat to lean muscle one day at a time. I don't feel like I'm young enough to say "well, its 1 month before summer and I guess I'll try to get my abs back." I'd be working against myself if I tried to cut weight that fast. The good news is that working out makes me feel even better now than it did when I was younger so I'm in it for the long haul. What I mean by that is the extra energy I get from working out is more important to me and more noticeable as I get older. 5-6 times a day and what I mean by small is appropriate portions. Most of us are accustomed to eating fast food portions even at home, and those meals are often 2-3 times the size of what is appropriate for a particular person. Eating a lot of small meals helps boost your metabolism, too, which we need because aging slows the metabolism. By the way, I always count a good protein shake as a meal.

On a bright note, I am getting ready to start the slow pitch softball season out. Last season, I hit one home run the entire season. The other day in batting practice I hit about 10 home runs. It was almost unbelievable to me, but I realized that I have basically been in the gym 5 days a week for about 8 months now. I have increased my strength an incredible amount since this time last year. Much like you, there are times after I workout that I see myself in the mirror and I'm like "I'm almost to where I want to be..." But, it seems like that goes away as the week progresses and its back to the drawing board. I am going to mix my diet up a little bit and try to eat smaller portions several times a day instead of a couple of big meals. I'm not really in any rush to get to where I want to be either, but I would like a good game plan to get there eventually. I mean, we only live once - so I'd like to look the way I want to look during that short life!
May 13, 200818 yr I'm at the point now where I have lost alot of fat and put on alot of muscle. I have my body looking 10 times better than last year at this time. Where I am now, though, is at the point where I want to get to the next level (the ripped abs and well defined muscles), but I'm not sure what the next step is to get to that level. Anyone have any suggestions for me? You can come get on my level Wire, it'll be fun. No but seriously, I even volunteered to be the DD pretty much mon-fri the first half of the summer. My biggest enemy is going out with the guys and drinking. I'm still in better shape than most anyone I know, but I've finally decided to get rid of the only thing stopping me from having a six pack again. Beer makes you hold so much water weight.

Unfortunately, it looks like that might be one of the last pieces of the puzzle for me, as well. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet.

I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet. Indeed it's bad news, I honestly think it'll be easier once I graduate, and I don't have five different people calling me every night to go grab a drink. It's just so hard to say no, esepcially when there's such a high likelihood of encountering some very beautiful ladies while out and about. I took my first step last night though and was the DD. Told the guys they'd be seeing this side alot more of me for the next month or two.
May 13, 200818 yr I'm 5'10 175 lbs. playing saftey, naturally i want to get bigger. What would be the best supplement to take to get bigger for this upcoming season?
May 13, 200818 yr I'm 5'10 175 lbs. playing saftey, naturally i want to get bigger. What would be the best supplement to take to get bigger for this upcoming season? Are you in high school? I'd just make sure I ate a lot and took a lot of protein. Combine that with working out 5 days a week at least. Do low amounts of repetitions (5 per set) with heavy weight too.

I know about protein, but that has only made me gain about five lbs. this year. I really want to beef up more than what i am now.
May 14, 200818 yr Yeah, this is gonna be my last season and i want to make it count. I know about protein, but that has only made me gain about five lbs. this year. I really want to beef up more than what i am now. Eat a lot of peanut butter, take a ton of protein, and work your butt off. I weighed around 130 lbs my junior year and I ate tons of peanut butter sandwiches, and drank protein shakes and I got up to 155 before my senior year.

Don't listent to sf41 though, we still got to enjoy ourselves, too.:banana:j/k But the wheat and barley is holding me back, too.
