I like the way you think JoeJoe, but while Mason, LexCath, and Jtown might be the top ranked teams at the sweet 16 (which actually I think UHA might have something to say about being discluded in favor of Jtown), they are not the top 3 teams in the state...

I'm sure Bardstown is good but there's a reason these Holmes seniors are making their third trip to Rupp in 4 years. If you don't think experience is going to play a huge roll in this game, you're sadly mistaken.

Also looking at B-town's roster, they aren't very big and will struggle with Holmes length. Holmes goes ten deep with their heighth looking like this:

Starters

Braeon Avery PG 5'10

Arrez Henderson G 6'1

Jeremiah Johnson G/F 6'4

Ricardo Johnson G/F 6'5

Terrence Clark C/F 6'4

Role Players

Elijah Pittman G/F 6'5

Todd Humphrey F 6'5

Josh Nelson F/C 6'4

Jamel Riley PG 6'

Dom Johnson G/F 6'2

When Henderson isn't in Holmes will likely have 4 6'4 guys on the floor who are G/F.

As far as Bardstown being the most athletic team Holmes has seen, I think Male is just as athletic if not more athletic than Bardstown.

Bardstown will be overwhelmed when they see Holmes. Their press and defense will cause B'town fits.

I was just stating that it'd be an exciting matchup from a fans standpoint, I know Holmes will put on a show. I actually picked Holmes to win it all.

Holmes 75-64.

Holmes is a phenomenal team to watch. Their next 5 off the bench could be starters. They're too deep. When they're getting 17 from JaMel Riley off the bench, that tells me something. B-Town can score from what I've seen, but when the 9th Region MVP Arrez Henderson and team show up on Wednesday, I see a lobsided score.

Hey no problem with that my man. Just stating Holmes length will give Bardstown a lot of problems. I think we'll see a similar type of game as last year againt Tiglhman from Holmes with the winning margin being a little bit more than 9.

Yeah I know what you were saying and that is a very good point.:thumb:

I have seen Bardstown's roster but Who are their starting 5 and role players? Height and position included. If someone could post it, that'd be great. Just trying to get a feel for what match ups to expect.

G - J. Hickman 6-2

G - C. Hall 5-9

F - Demarco Phillips 6-4

F - Damian Edelen 6-3

F/C - Rashaun Phillips 6-3

Key role players include:

F/C - L. Edelen 6-3

F - S. Edelen 6-0

G - T. Cochran 5-9

There are a few other guys who get some PT, but these are the guys you're most likely to see getting the lion's share of playing time.

Wasn't there a thread leading up to the Holmes-Elizabethtown game a few weeks ago comparing Holmes athleticism to Etown's? I thought there were some Hardin County posters that were talking about Etown's as being athletic. If that's the case, since Btown beat Etown in the regional finals by 2, does that give us northern Kentuckians an expectation that Bardstown is similar to Etown (which Holmes handily defeated)?

G - J. Hickman 6-2

G - C. Hall 5-9

F - Demarco Phillips 6-4

F - Damian Edelen 6-3

F/C - Rashaun Phillips 6-3

Key role players include:

F/C - L. Edelen 6-3

F - S. Edelen 6-0

G - T. Cochran 5-9

With that starting lineup I think we'll see the following match ups:

Arrez henderson 6'1 = J. Hickman 6'2

Braeon Avery 5'11 = C. Hall 5'9

J. Johnson 6'4 = Demarco Phillips 6'4

R. Johnson 6'5 = Damian Edelen 6'3

T. Clark 6'4 = Rashaun Phillips 6'3

As far as the bench play goes, I think Bardstown will be in trouble if they have to rely on bench players to step up. When Holmes goes big, Bardstown will have a tough time rebounding.

Holmes will win BIG!

I hope you are right about UHA. I would love to see them upset LexCath in that first round matchup. Such a shame I have to work during the day on Wednesday, that game could be a classic.
