Holmes vs Bardstown

Featured Replies

Bardstown press is used to slow teams down and hope they make a mistake by throwing over top and they go and get. They set it up pretty fast since have been doing all season. Might have to press in spurts to give some players a little rest. Just watched tape of Holmes and it will be a interesting game to see how the coaches handle each other strengths and weakeness. On tape Holmes is good and Bardstown will have to bring its A game.

Which game did you watch?

Or did you just watch the clips that I posted?

Watched the tape of your region final game against Cov Cath looked real good. Bardstown will have there hands full and I hope they can handle the pressure. If they can break the press they might get some easy baskets. You are right they don't waste no time after opposing team scores we can only hope they make some mistakes by pushing the ball up the court. If both teams play at that pace they might be on empty come the fourth quarter.

Holmes played pretty well in the region final. I'd say where they were in that game is what you should see against them. I don't think the region final is a true showing of how good their bench really is though.

Dom Johnson only saw the end of the game and Pittman (6'5 guard) didn't play at all in the first half. Holmes has more weapons than what you saw in that game.

That was enough to impress me. Trying to get copy of your game against E-TOWN to compare the tapes and see if we can exploit ant weakness. I can be honest didn't see many in the region final.

I hope the team thinks it will be this easy. Bardstown hasn't got beat by that many all season. With only one team in common it's hard to compare schedules. The only game I can say Bardstown didn't come to play was North Hardin and only lost by 10.

Holmes doesn't have many weaknesses. If you're looking for a weakness though IMO it comes offensively with them rushing things at times. The Covcath game was the most patient they had been all season.

Until the regional final a lot of people would tell you it was the half court offense... Not anymore...

I think that regional final was the best I've seen them execute a half court offense in quite a very long time. That should be credited to Coach Henley. He tells the players what needs to be done and they execute it perfectly.

Holmes has become more and more of a complete team as the season has went on.

I can also say Bardstown has become a complete team as the season has went along. It seems like every game a differant player takes his game to another level. For example D Edelen has come on strong the last couple of games that gives Bardstown another option. He was moved into the starting lineup a few games ago when L Edelen got injured and has been on a tear on the boards and scored over 20 in the region final.

D Edelen sounds like he put on a similar type of performance Riley of Holmes did off the bench.

He was 9 for 9 from behind the arc throughout the region tournament including a 5 for 5, 17 point performance in Holmes 28 point semi final win over Dixie.

I believe this will be a game of runs. Not sure about B-town, but Holmes can be down by a bunch, and come back. Hopefully they won't have to do that, but I will say that their bench will be the difference in this one.

I think what people need to realize is Holmes is going to put a 15 point run on you because of their depth. If you can keep up, you'll keep it close, if not you're going to get blown out.

I think the Bulldogs of Cov. Holmes will be just a little to much for the Boys from Bardstown. But Good Luck to both Teams!!
