Didn't CovCath beat Catholic early in the season? Yes, they did. LexCath is beatable, and will have a huge tough game right away with UHA.

LexCath who I have seen play at least three times since the CovCath game, isn't the same team that CovCath beat in that opening game of the season for both team. Understand, I will be rooting for Holmes, but the Holmes fans need to understand that both LexCath and Mason County are really, really great teams. If you look at just who LexCath had to beat just to win their Region, you would understand what I am talking about...

I understand that LexCath had to beat very good teams in Scott County and Bryan Station to win their region, but they are beatable or they would be undefeated which they are not.

Let's just wait and see if Holmes & LexCath meet up in the semi's.

Holmes by 10+....The Bulldogs defense will be to much for Bardstown to handle...Pressure in your face "D"...GO BULLDOGS!!! Make the ninth region proud..:ylsuper::ylsuper:

Holmes will beat Bardstown pretty easily (10-15 point range). If Bardstown doesn't rebound with the Dogs, it'll be worse.

That said, for those considering Holmes a "serious" threat to win the state title, the chances are slim and none...And, I think I just saw slim slipping out the back door.

Holmes is good, and it would surprise me, but not shock, to see them pull an upset and reach the finals. It would also surprise me, but not shock me, if the Bulldogs lost on Friday. They are good, not good enough to go 4-0 against this field though.

Hopefully, and I'm sure they will, Holmes will take it one game at a time. But yes, they could be playing next saturday night, or could be headed home next wednesday night. This is the Ky. State tournament, and anything can happen. Simon Kenton was good in 81, but shouldn't of been able to go 4-0 against that field either. I believe we all know what happend though.:sssh:

When the final ratings come out before the tounament, LexCath, Mason and J-Town will likely be 1,2 and 3 in the sweet 16. This does consume my thoughts because I know how tough it would be for Holmes to beat the top 3 teams in the state within 36 hours. However, its definitely a possibility and they actually have a better chance than last year IMO. March is all about faith and you sir, need to get some. No one from NKY wants to see a post like this right now. We want to believe in a team that is 31-2 and 8 points away from being 33-0. We want to believe in a team that has been to the Sweet 16 three of the last four years. Mostly, we just want to believe our team can cut down the nets.

What we don't want, is your posts discounting our chances before the tourney starts.:fight:

*sorry if I was too harsh here... Just pumped about the dawgs;)

No need for a history lesson, thanks though.

All I did was give my assessment as I see the tournament playing out. I could be wrong, but it was my assessment. What exactly is wrong with that?

Bardstown is junior laden with a couple of very good seniors. Their strength may be their increasing depth, you never know who is going to be the star. In the All-"A" it was Hickman. In the District Tourney, it was DeMarco Phillips. In the Region Tourney, it was Hall. Heck, even a former reserve, Damian Edelen knocked down 24 against E-Town. Thrown in a couple of muscle players in Logan Edelen and Rashuan Phillips and who do you leave alone?

I'm sure Holmes is awesome, but there is a reason that this Tiger team is in their first Sweet 16, since 1971.

From the All "A" program just for you Eta Rho

#2 Downs 5"8" G 11

#3 S. Edelen 6'0" F 11

#4 Baker 6'3" F 11

#5 C. Hall 5'9" G 12

#10 T. Hickman 5'11" G 10

#12 Scott 5'9" G 12

#13 D. Edelen 6'3" F 11

#14 Wickliffe 6'1" F 12

#15 Cochran 5'9" G 11

#20 K. Hall 5'10" G 10

#21 J. Hickman 6'2" G 11

#22 Shrewsbury 5'9" G 11

#24 Keene 5'10" F 11

#25 Osborne 5'7" G 11

#31 Phillips 6'4" F 11

#32 B. Hall 6'0" F 11

#35 L. Edelen 6'3" F 12

#41 R. Phillips 6'3" F 11

Holmes being as athletic as they are could have problems with this team basically because Holmes is used to overwelming teams with their athleticism but this Bardstown team could be the most athletic team Holmes has faced all season. Imo but I still favor Holmes in this game. Could be the best 1st rd. game to watch due to the fact that both teams have tremondous athletes which makes for a fun game to watch.

I'm sure Bardstown is good but there's a reason these Holmes seniors are making their third trip to Rupp in 4 years. If you don't think experience is going to play a huge roll in this game, you're sadly mistaken.

Also looking at B-town's roster, they aren't very big and will struggle with Holmes length. Holmes goes ten deep with their heighth looking like this:

Starters

Braeon Avery PG 5'10

Arrez Henderson G 6'1

Jeremiah Johnson G/F 6'4

Ricardo Johnson G/F 6'5

Terrence Clark C/F 6'4

Role Players

Elijah Pittman G/F 6'5

Todd Humphrey F 6'5

Josh Nelson F/C 6'4

Jamel Riley PG 6'

Dom Johnson G/F 6'2

When Henderson isn't in Holmes will likely have 4 6'4 guys on the floor who are G/F.

As far as Bardstown being the most athletic team Holmes has seen, I think Male is just as athletic if not more athletic than Bardstown.

Bardstown will be overwhelmed when they see Holmes. Their press and defense will cause B'town fits.

All I did was give my assessment as I see the tournament playing out. I could be wrong, but it was my assessment. What exactly is wrong with that?

Actually, nothing wrong with it at all. I just believe in our boyz and wanted to take their back. :thumb:
