And I don't want to forget to congratulate the girls from Rowan on the trip to Diddle. And congrats to Ashland on a fine campaign.

Unbelievable final between 2 quality teams. Rowan loses 3 seniors and Ashland 1 but both teams have a lot of talent coming back for next year. Both should be ranked up there again with the favorites of the region.

 

Congrats to Rowan on a great come from behind win. The Rowan girls never gave up and it paid off. To the Ashland girls I also want to commend their efforts and congratulate them on a stellar season. There were a lot of naysayers that didn't think Ashland could compete against Rowan - Last night's game proved them wrong.

She made the all tournament team ! Go easy, you may get another thread closed.

My post was not intended for any High Schooler. It just seems interesting to me the posts you have made concerning stats. Congrats to all that made the All-Tourney Team and to both Ashland and Rowan.

I believe that a Rowan County Lady Viking players has received 3 out of the 4 years of the 16th Regional Tournament the "Best Defensive" Award which goes to an individual.

 

2005- Nicole Barr (Rowan)

2006- Megan Hughes (Rowan)

2007- ??????

2008- Cassidi Spurlock (Rowan)

 

Its a great trademark for the Lady Vikings of Rowan County.

32 turnovers and lost by only 2? Wow, I am suprised they were in the game with that many to's.

 

They shot an incredible percentage from behind the arc. Congrats to the Lady Vikings on their 16th Region crown. The Kittens showed heart in the 4th quarter. Rowan made numerous plays that would have broken most teams but the Kittens fought hard and never gave up, it's a testiment to their character. The Lady Vikings' defense was just outstanding and they pressure the ball handler all night long. The Kittens will be right back there next year with the nucleus of the team returning for their senior year. I commend the Kittens on a fantastic year and while it's disappointing now, thank goodness that most of them have another year and another shot at making it to state.

 

I commend Ali Wilcox for the character she showed throughout the year in dealing with the adversity put before her this year. She was injured this year and missed many games but she never quit working hard to get back and it payed off in the end with a great tourney and an all-tourney selection for her. She was constantly working in the gym at her game and I doubt there is a harder worker in the region than Ali. I know she will now work even harder to help her team get back to that game next year and that says alot about her.

Congrats to Rowan Co. and good luck to Coach Tackett and his girls at Diddle. Kudos to the Kittens on a fantastic year. Tremendous fortitude and character in the final.

Congrats to Rowan and Ashland for a great game. Another break for Rowan-with the Girl's state tourny being pushed back a day, they now play at noon instead of 8 a.m. After a cross-state trek, that is a favorable break.
