Here's an interesting bit of trivia: I've never eaten sausage gravy...or even seen anyone eat sausage gravy, in person.

Monk - That breakfast sausage casserole sounds amazingly good! But does it come with a cardiologist? ;)

Boy are you deprived.... Guess you have never had chocolate gravy either? Rich but good.

Take any standard fudge recipe...but not the fanasty fudge one. The one I use is off of the coaca can.

Thanks Gold Sunrise!! I'll have to check it out!! I'm a HORRIBLE chocoholic so . . . this would be right up my alley!!!!:ylsuper:

Coffee and doughnuts this morning, but I have a plan for tommorrow:

Breakfast Sausage Casserole

2 1/2 cups seasoned croutons

1 1/2 lbs. sausage

4 eggs beaten

2 1/2 cups milk

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 4 oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained

3/4 tsp. dry mustard

2 cups or 8 oz. cheddar cheese

Pour croutons in a 13x9x2 baking dish

Brown sausage, crumble and drain on paper towels

Beat eggs, add milk, soup, mushrooms and dry mustard

Layer sausage over croutons, pour above wet mixture over sausage

Refridgerate 8 hours or overnight.

Remove from fridge 30 mins. before baking.

Bake at 325, 50-55 minutes, remove, sprinkle cheese on top and

continue baking 5-10 minutes longer until cheese melts.

Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Heart attack in a dish! Even better served with some Keene's Country Ham and Hashbrown Casserole! YUM!!!!!

I've made this casserole on Christmas morning's. I normally use cubed bread. The croutons sound pretty good.

You don't know what you are missing! It's ok to eat it every once in a while.

Breakfast for me usually is some breakfast sandwich from a store or a bowl of cereal.

But on snowed in mornings, I get to make a real breakfast.

Eggs, biscuits, gravy, bacon, sausage, grits, oatmeal, toast, etc, etc.

This morning can't decide what I want.

Oatmeal or grits.

Overeasy eggs or omelot.

Bacon or Sausage.

What is your favorite breakfast?

Everything that you have posted on there.:D:thumb:

Got up to go to the gym it is closed so made a pot of coffee for the wife and I and now trying to decide on breakfast. JD

Urban Active in Bellevue is open. I got up, ate a half a bagel with cream cheese, tall glass of orange juice and a banana. Oh, I had a few pretzels and dip my son was eating.

But if it was last month before I started eating better it would be this.

French toast, sausage links and biscuts and gravy.
