No shock if you have seen Gallatin County play. They have been in big games before. They understand the meaning of POISE and MENTAL TOUGHNESS.

 

Maddox totally outplayed Penny imo.

I told my son that we (Gallatin) would win by 8 if you believe me! I am being very serious in this!

Saw Gallatin give Hazard all they wanted in the All "A". Gallatin has a very nice team. Good win.

The difference in this game was Anderson has a couple nice individual players where as Gallatin has a nice team. They don't care who gets the glory as long as the team gets the victory. Best of Luck in the semi's and hopefully on into the finals.

I think credit needs to be given to Coach Jones and his scheduling. Yeah, they're a Class A school, and have so many conference games against teams that may not have as much talent. But, it's what he did with some of those other openings that has prepared them...Scott County, Anderson County, Shelby County, Simon Kenton, Holmes, Conner, and the 3 Oldham County schools. Not exactly a cake walk.

 

Even in the losses, there's still something to be gained...and that's knowing what it takes to be a winner. I think he, and the team, have done a fine job of that this year.

Great post. I can't stress enough how important good scheduling is in preparing a team for the postseason. Those 25-4 records look nice and all, but it doesn't mean a lot when that fourth loss comes in the district semifinals or the first round of the region.

I think the bolded part is why Anderson County likely didn't win. Russell is a very solid player and can put a lot of points on the board. Penny will always get his, but I think if you can contain Russell you can win the game. Gallatin County did.
