I think credit needs to be given to Coach Jones and his scheduling. Yeah, they're a Class A school, and have so many conference games against teams that may not have as much talent. But, it's what he did with some of those other openings that has prepared them...Scott County, Anderson County, Shelby County, Simon Kenton, Holmes, Conner, and the 3 Oldham County schools. Not exactly a cake walk.

 

Even in the losses, there's still something to be gained...and that's knowing what it takes to be a winner. I think he, and the team, have done a fine job of that this year.

Yes I agree and have told coach Jones that very thing. By letting his team compete against Scott Co, Holmes and the like they are definitely learning what it takes to play at a higher level than your usual small school plays.

Another thing that can't be underestimated is the Wildcats experience in elimination games by playing in the All 'A' Classic. Going to Richmond 3 years in a row and winning the last 3 31st District Tournaments has mentally toughened Coach Jones' squad.

the reason penny didnt probably get off the bench fast enough was that he had mono and has been hospitalized 3 times the last two weeks. once after the district finals and twice after the regional tournament. doctors didn't want him to play.
