March 7, 200818 yr You mean that those who are opposed to abortion should not work with those who are pro choice to reduce the number of abortions? That makes no sense to me.:lol::lol: I was referring to his stating "let's talk about things we can agree upon." It was a deft sidestep of discussing the issue directly. That is all I said. I have heard a whole ot of rhetoric, but very little substance from him thus far. That said, abortion isn't a hot button for me anyway. My primary issue is national defense and security, with the 2nd Amendment pulling up the rear. These are the things that will likely keep me from voting for Obama. Roe V. Wade will not be overturned, I have no delusions about it. I don't like it, but I am moving onto other more pressing issues.

Should Jesus just have chucked it in and stayed in Heaven and not came to Earth as Man? If he can do what he did for me, should I not stand against abortion till the end of me? There is Scripture about running the race till the end.

March 7, 200818 yr Oh, please try to tell me that most college professors aren't liberal. None of my college professors have seemed that way at all. I know, I've sat through their classes. If they are, they don't project it on their students. I realize most of them probably are liberal, like I said earlier, the more education one receives, the more likely he/she is to be a democrat.
March 7, 200818 yr It is such a better idea to kill unborn babies with safe methods instead of killing unborn babies with unsafe methods. We would hate to see the unborn babies die before the abortionist and mother has a chance to kill them. Are you saying you'd rather see back alley abortions happen?
March 7, 200818 yr Your sources couldn't possibly be skewed by the author(s)r personal beliefs could they? Who knows, they probably could have been. I was simply saying I used to get hammered on for my sources...No need for the eye rolling .
March 7, 200818 yr And your sources aren't biased? How many times are you going to quote that one post and ask me if my sources were biased?
March 7, 200818 yr Are you saying you'd rather see back alley abortions happen? I would rather see no abortions. But to answer your question, I will pose a hypothetical question. On an average about 3500 babies are killed in this country DAILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For argument sake, let's say outlawing abortions cuts that number to 20% abortions happening in the back alleys that you are talking about. That means 700 babies would be killed daily in this country. Would I like to see an approximate 2800 babies lives saved on a DAILY basis? Is that your question you are posing to me? And for the safety of the mother who would CHOOSE to go to a back alley. Well, in the casino thread I am hammered over the head with the mantra of they are adults who would choose that action and should have personal responsibility for their own actions of choosing to HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX and then compound that one bad choice with another even more HORRIBLE choice of trying to kill their unborn babies lives. I think someone keeps throwing up Darwinism, survival of the fittest.

March 7, 200818 yr Obama is a good public speaker, who can motivate people. That doesn't make him a worthy candidate for the presidency.

March 7, 200818 yr [Deleted because I had not read the warning against mentioning abortion in this thread before posting.]
March 8, 200818 yr How many times are you going to quote that one post and ask me if my sources were biased? As many times as I want to---I am exercising my freedom. By the way, did I mention that your sources are probably biased as well?
March 8, 200818 yr Actually what I've read states that those who further their education tend to lean more towards the liberal side politically, therefore making the ones with MORE education democrats. :thumb: I had read at one time that a greater percentage of republicans than democrats had college degrees. That was several years ago.
