Does anyone know when the voting takes place? I think that if it is after state, the player who's team wins at Rupp should win, if it's one of these 3 and there's a pretty good chance that one of these teams will win.

First of all, Scotty Hopson is a McDonald's All-American. Enough said. It is most definitely a 3 man race. Mack right now probably needs his team to make a run in Rupp to win. But there is a great possibility that his team wont be playing in Rupp. Miller should be there but i think he still needs to have a good showing. I think because alot of people feel Hopson doesnt play hard consistently that Miller has the upper hand. But all three have a chance to win and are very good basketball players. If Uk were to land Mr. Hopson that would give them two 5 star caliber recruits for the first time since '04.

Head Coaches are receiving ballots now, they are not due back until after the tournament final.

So the head coaches are the ones that vote? And they can send them back before the finals?

Interesting......

If you remember back in 2004 when Chris Lofton won Mr. Basketball. I don't know if he had already committed to Tennessee yet but that didn't affect him winning the award. What are they going to do now take it away from him because he signed with an out of state school? I don't think so.

Chris Lofton did not commit to Tennessee until after he had already won Kentucky Mr. Basketball.

If you think the college that a player signs with does not affect the voting for this award, you are badly mistaken.

Miller will get it, isn't he going to play for UK.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. Him going to UK sure doesn't do anything but help his chances of getting Mr. Basketball. But he is a great player and is worthy of it. I think it could come down to who leads their team further into the postseason.

I think you are right but my vote goes to Mack.

I think the award will go to Hopson, and not because we are both from Hopkinsville but it is, what it is. As I said in my earlier post, it will be hard to keep the award from the player with so much talent and publicity right or wrong. I see a lot of fans of other good players calling Scotty lazy and it has spread throughout BGP even guys who haven't seen Scotty play has adapted the opinion of those who have labled him. I will go on the record as saying that if Scotty signs with Mississippi State, UK, U of L, Ohio State or Kentucky Christain, he will win it! This is still only my opinion and I am excercising it, Scotty will win it! I went through this a few years back in football when Pulley won it, seems like people in other parts of the state who out number the Westerners think our guys don't have a chance for probably biased reasons but, in the end as I say when the votes come out we are winners. I'll save any further comments until the award winner is announced!

Miller won Mr. Basketball the day he verbaled to Kentucky. Hopson will finish second and Mack third.

You have to remember that the majority of members on here are from NKY and Mason County. Not too many from WKY.

I think that's what HT means. Not alot of people from WKY so sometimes it might cause a biased decision somewhat on the rest of the state. If I post a thread about Fulton City High School then 98.7% of the people on here couldn't care less or probably doesn't even know where Fulton City is at.

Can't say I know where it is. So I guess you're right.
