February 24, 200818 yr The event in total raised about $450k. Not true. The total was over $424,000. I was a dancer there and Gillispie was brought to tears. He even called himself a baby. It was a very touching moment for the people there and you could tell that he truely cared. It is great to see a coach give back to the community and show is support for the students at the University.

Thank goodness the 'Cats won or instead of donating money, he probably would have kicked off another walk-on
February 24, 200818 yr Thank goodness the 'Cats won or instead of donating money, he probably would have kicked off another walk-on Can't you give the guy credit for once? He won a basketball game and helped kids with cancer yesterday. What did you do that gives you the right to judge him?
February 24, 200818 yr He spontaneously showed up to the event today with a check and made the donation. Can you believe him? The audacity... What is the "DanceBlue" event?
February 24, 200818 yr What is the "DanceBlue" event? DanceBlue is student run event that helps to raise money for the Pediatric Oncology Clinic on campus to help children with Cancer. In its first year, 2006, DanceBlue raised over $123,000. Last year it raised over $242,000. The dancers (this year over 500) spend 24-hours not sitting and not sleeping. There is a big line dance the takes place every hour on the hour. For more info, ask me or go to http://www.danceblue.org Feel free to make a donation as well!

February 24, 200818 yr For all his supposed faults, I believe he really has some great qualities as a person. And I don't think anyone has much of an argument on the way hes coaching right now. :thumb:

February 24, 200818 yr Class Act. I am so tired of all the "BCG is a lush" rumors. Funny thing, no one can show us the carousing and binge photos or proof, but all the good he does is well documented. The guy seems to be a very solid citizen. Keep it up, Billy!!!!
February 24, 200818 yr Great story to hear. I think everyone in the Bluegrass is liking BCG more and more every day. BTW, as far as I know, this is the event that President Lee Todd allows the students to challenge him to a game of pool, where if they beat him he will give them his basketball tickets for which ever game they choose. Does anyone know if he got beat?
