Was there this much crying by everyone when Mason held it?? Give someone else a shot for crying out loud. Might just be that fans from other teams, players for other schools, and parents of other kids might like to have the tourny in their backyard!

 

This is true. Not only for the citizens of the other towns, but the business owner's also. I am sure that the restaurants, gas stations, etc. enjoy the raise in business created by the tournament. The other town's businesses should be able to have their share, too. Why should all of the money be pumped into one place year after year?

The only game where attendance is going to be a problem is the championship game.

 

Unless you have Montgomery/Clark Co or Mason Co/Montgomery Co in the semi-finals.

 

So I'm hoping we don't get anyone posting after the first round games saying how many empty seats there were. The Fieldhouse had a nice crowd, but the place wasn't packed until the Championship game.

The 37th district has the vote next year. So they could have it in the new Bank of KY arena at NKU but that might be hard to schedule. I think it is up to the districts that vote on it and they wanted it there so they get to have it there. Just like they voted for the last 37 years to have it at Mason Co. They voted it that way.

That would be fine. As I believe that place will hold about 10,000. It is fine to go up but I just can't understand the logistics of going backwards.

I would love for the tourny be held at the Fieldhouse, so I don't have to drive. But, either way I will still attend the tourny. I am interested on how Montgomery hosts, I'm sure they will do a fine job and I wish them the best of luck. Once the new arena is built at NKU, just rotate it between the 3, if this year works out to the liking of the people who vote on where it is held. Honestly, I don't care where it is held, I will still attend and cheer on the Royals along with the other die hard Royal fans.

If size does not matter, I vote for Mt. Olivet. Im sure Deming has never hosted it before either, they have a good little team this year. They have never hosted it before. Maybe they should be given a chance at it. People in Mt. Olivet could use the money too. If size does not matter the first ones there can get in the gym. Everyone left outside can listen to the radio. Maybe they can go eat somewhere or buy something at some of the stores. It is a central location to everyone. Everyone will not have to drive as far as high as gas is. This is just a thought. This seems to be the feeling of some people. Let's make sure we all eat and spend money in Mt. Sterling to help these people out this year.:ylsuper:

Great post:thumb: For the last 16 years I have driven to the tourney to support my Cards ...didn't matter where they played I would be there. Had to take off work many times to get to the game in time.....didn't matter I wanted to support the kids, just as you do. I agee on the roatation....will be a very long drive to NKU for me, but I will be there..... supporting my kids. :thumb: I am sure that Montgomery Co will do a fine job too.

No, not yet...we moved here 16 years ago when I got my teaching job at GRC.

Hopefully the powers that be in Clark County will insure that the gym that is scheduled to be completed in 2011 will be as large or larger than all the others in our region. That should insure our ability to host the region for the next forty years and get our piece of the pie!:ylsuper:

I hope when all is said and done the real story here is how well the teams played and what a great tournament the 10 th region has every year. Not where it is or who gets it next. As long as the goals are ten foot from floor to rim the rest is merely irrelevent!

Some of you all need to come to a regional tournament game in the 14th, at Hazard's Memorial Gym, and then let me hear you complain. That gym doesn't hold half of what 3other gyms in the region hold (Knott, Breathitt, PCC) yet it is still on a 5 year rotation, (Powell Co.) being the other. From a complete outsuder to the 10th region, it is extremely unfair to hold it at the same gym every year, when that team is a strong competitor every year, plain and simple, biggest gym or not.
