Will you be going to the tourney at Montgomery Co this year?

 

Haven't quite made my mind up yet. I'm not much on wasting gasoline at 3.00 a gallon to be turned away at the door and I've seen first hand on MANY occasions just how many turn up for the finals. PLUS I don't know If it would be fair for my big butt to take up a seat that a parent, a teacher or most importantly a KID should be sitting in.

I, for one, would attend the regional finals in Mason County just because it was close to my home. I would not drive out of town for the finals, because honestly it doesn't interest me that much to go if a team that interests me isn't participating. With that said, I will not travel to Mont Co. for the finals. I would guess a lot of people I know will not travel either. Most of my friends only went because it was something to do in Maysville. I can only wonder how many other people around the Maysville area only attended because it was something to do and will not attend the finals if they have to drive to Mont. Co?? Seating capacity may not be an issue. Let Mont. Co. host the tournament and see what happens.

It works both ways. Now people that normally wouldn't make the long drive around the Winchester, Mount Sterling, Paris area to Mason Co. now will be able to with the shorter drive.:thumb:

This issue has been blown out of proportion. I seriously doubt many people will be turned away at the door. Counting the seats, at the GRC vs. Montgomery Co. there had to be over 200 or so more people standing all around the gym just watching the game and not even sitting.

Won't have to but thanks for the offer. The fire marshall typically shows up every year. I can't see this year being any different.

Just stop. They deserve a chance. I wish them good luck. All this does is make Mason Co. fans look bad. Our team can win wherever the game is held.

 

Probably true this year. After Mr Miller graduates though, I wouldn't be so sure. This tournament needs to be rotated. Home court advantage every single year is simply unfair.

Mason County has won four of the last six regional titles including three in a row from 2002-04.

I don't think the article was attempting to name every winner since 1970, just the teams that had won the most times. They probably also included Montgomery Co. becasue they are hosting and are considered by most people to be the second ranked team in the region this year.

I will not be driving to Mt. Sterling for the boys tournament. Too far from this end of the region.

 

I am mainly a girls basketball fan and go to the boys tournament for the semis and finals.

 

When the girls tournament is close, I make each session. When it is at Winchester or Mt. Sterling, I will make the finals and other good matchups.

 

I won't drive to Mt. Sterling for either unless my HS is playing in the game.

Was there this much crying by everyone when Mason held it?? Give someone else a shot for crying out loud. Might just be that fans from other teams, players for other schools, and parents of other kids might like to have the tourny in their backyard!

Heaven forbid that a different group of fans have a closer opportunity to go to a regional game.
