Since I grew up in region 11, not far from winchester, I might add, and haven't lived in the 10th region all my life, I did not realize that there was so much animosity towards Mason County.

 

Since these figures everyone is quoting only goes back 30 years, let's have some grand totals, like in the history of the tournament. Anyone have any?

Biggest high school gym? But it's also not fair to let Mason have it in their own house. Too bad their aren't any neutral sites large enough to host the region.

 

New Northern Ky University gym will be a good choice! I am glad to see it go somewhere else this year, love the fieldhouse but I think that it is only fair that the Mason Co team travels and also their fans like the rest of us!

Actually we beat them last year so it can be done and is not the point at all.:thumb:

What is all this "piece of the pie" stuff? I've seen this commented on more than once. If you're talking local businesses and things of that nature, then OK. But as far as schools in the region go, everyone gets a share when it's held at the Fieldhouse. Not even just the 8 that go to region, everyone, all 17 teams, because that's how much they can clear with it being the best-attended region tournament statewide. I'm not sure how many people realize that.

 

 

I think everybody has realized that from the time the first brick was laid in Mt. Sterling.

Jimmy Dykes said during the UK game, that Rupp was sold out tonight people turned away in Lexington, the world is coming to an end. He also said something about SugarDaddy laying off the sugar.

Problem is there isn't a neutral site in the 10th capable of hosting such an event like the 11th has in Memorial, EKU, and the Frankfort Civic Center....at least not until the new arena at NKU is finished.

Does everyone realize that if the tournament is set up like it was last year, with boys games in the afternoon on Saturday and the girls finals on Saturday night, if your school happened to be playing in both it would be a 2 hour drive to get from one game to the other? With gasoline prices the way they are just how many people do you think would do this? Which tournament do you really think is going to come out on the bottom end of this deal? Another example of poor planning if you ask me to put the 2 tournaments on opposite ends of the region and then expect them to play on the same day.

I hope you are right but that is what I was told by an athletic director this week. I asked the dates.

SugarDaddy dont worry about Mason ill gurantee they will continue success and win regionals because the program they have established now all the way through grade school not just because of 1 player or the torney being at home and this you can take to bank.I will enjoy myself in Mt. Sterling something differnt.
