ukboy5 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Obviously Holmes is number one. I think it is a toss up for the next four spots. Who do you think are the top five?
Lion Mania Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 1. Holmes 2. Covington Catholic 3. Highlands 4. Boone County 5. Ryle/St. Henry
wideopen Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 1. Holmes ( maybe the best team in the state) 2. Covingtion Catholic 3. Ryle 4. Highlands 5. Boone Co.
TURBOENNIS Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 1) Holmes 2) Cov Cath 3) Boone Co 4) Highlands 5) NCC
B-Ball-fan Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 1. Holmes 2. Highlands 3. Boone County 4. Cov Cath 5. Dixie/St.Henry/NCC/Holy Cross/Ryle/Beechwood/Newport/Conner
Sandman Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 For those who voted for Ryle, you do realize they've lost five of their last seven games heading into a game with Beechwood tonight, right. That's five of seven and an overall losing record. Top five are pretty clear to me, though their order may not be. Holmes, Highlands, CovCath, Dixie and Boone are the clear top five. If I had to rate them, it'd be 1. Holmes 2. CovCath 3. Highlands 4. Dixie 5. Boone County

Ryle, as you eluded to has a losing record and has been blown out quite a few times this year.
Eta Rho Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 1. Holmes 2. a) Covcath 2. b) Highlands 4. Boone County 5. Dixie
NKU20 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 1. Holmes 2. Highlands 3. Boone County 4. Cov Cath 5. Dixie/St.Henry/NCC/Holy Cross/Ryle/Beechwood/Newport/Conner I agree.
Qryche11 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Holmes Cov Cath Highlands Boone Co St. Henry
cantstop85 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 1. Holmes 2. Highlands 3. Boone County 4. Cov Cath 5. Dixie/St.Henry/NCC/Holy Cross/Ryle/Beechwood/Newport/Conner Are you kidding me??? Highlands lost to Holy Cross and Boone lost by 20 at Holmes. What planet are you on??? CovCath clearly #2 with Bondick back.
ukboy5 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 1. Holmes 2. Highlands 3. Boone County 4. Cov Cath 5. Dixie/St.Henry/NCC/Holy Cross/Ryle/Beechwood/Newport/Conner Agreed.
9thregionbb Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 1. Holmes 2.Cov. Cath 3.Boone 4. Highlands 5.St.Henry Top 3 are way above the rest of the area teams. Highlands injuries make them a high risk team unless everyone is heathly then watch out. St.Henry is just a good coached team and the Class A champs.
CCH24 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Although Holmes is clearly the number one team in the region right now, you have to remember that Highlands and Cov Cath both took them into overtime. In both those games Highlands was playing without Simpson, and Cov Cath was playing without Bondick in their lineup. With Bondick back the Colonels have a much better shot at beating the Bulldogs, and with a healthy Simpson, Highlands is a much better team than they have been lately.

With or without those players, Holmes has beaten both teams before with those players in their lineups. Will they make a difference in a rematch? Absolutely. But don't think one player will be able to change the outcome of a game this year against Holmes. Holmes is clearly the best team. The real question is who will try to knock Holmes off in the region final. Highlands or CCH. I think Holmes has made it pretty clear no team matches up well with them.
