Who do you think are the top five teams in the ninth region?

Either Johnson boys could guard him.

You are very, very confident in Holmes. It is a good thing that Henley has this team playing with an effort instead of realizing how they are supreme. The Johnson boys are good but we are talking about a guy who has been a top 10 NKY player for a few years now. I know Holmes is a great defensive team but Simpson wouldn't be held to under 18,20 points by one them (if 100%

McGraw went for 32 and Kowolonek, who is not even close to the scorer of Simpson went for 16. 48 points between two guys AND add a scorer...

Listen, I'm in no way saying Holmes is not the favorite. I'm not even saying they won't win it all but your lack of respect for other teams is comical. Plus, while Holmes beat Highlands on their home court and everyone knows it, you MUST acknowledge that they weren't at full strength. At least if you have any intentions of being realistic...

I am saying it could cut down on McGraw productivty with Simpson back. I can't see them both scoring over 20 against Holmes.

1) Holmes

2) Cov Cath

3) Boone Co

4) Highlands

5) NCC

Agreed! Boone is right below Cov. Cath and Holmes.

I somewhat agree. However looking at last year is a bad idea since the ONLY way HHS could score was if Simpson scored.

I think Simpson could have a huge game if Henderson guards McGraw...and vice-versa. Adding another scoring threat will mean a lot of points from 2 of these 3: McGraw, Simpson and Kowolonek...IMO.

I completely agree, which is why I said Simpson would help them out offensively. But I'd say it's a stretch saying Simpson could have a huge game. Rico Johnson is a pretty darn good defender himself and could cause problems for Simpson. Simpson hasn't had to go up against anyone as long or athletic as Rico and coming back from an injury could make it even tougher for him facing a player of Rico's caliber. Also there's a flip side to that as well. Can Simpson guard the Johnson boy?

Just a little food for thought.

Didin't Boone lose to Highlands though..?

I just keep looking at how good of a game Kowolonek had, who is not nearly as good of a scorer as Simpson.(But is really, really good) I wonder why Johnson couldn't slow him down when he is undoubtedly the #2 scorer on the floor when Simpson and McGraw are both not playing. (Admittingly I'm not sure if R. Johnson guarded Kowolonek which is the point of the second half of the prior sentence.)

On a side note, I sure do hope they meet and Simpson's back. I'd pay a lot more than $5 to watch McGraw v Henderson and Simpson v R. Johnson...WOW!!!

While Simpson has been a top 10 nky player for a few years, something people need to realize is he will be coming back from an injury. Also it's not even a lock that Holmes and Highlands could even be on the same side of the region tournament. Holmes could very well have Boone on their side and CCH and Highlands on the other which makes these talks irrelevant. Let's wait for districts to play out and see the region pairings, then we can start talking about what Simpson can and can't do against Holmes., or any other team for that matter.

Heck, Highlands has to get passed NewCath first.

But this matchup is MUCH more fun to talk about...:thumb:

Got to get by NCC or Newport, seen weirder things :creepy:

Kowolonek was guarded by J. Johnson and then either Pittman or Humphrey, depending on who was in.

Rico guarded Eaton who had 9 points.

Kowolonek was 7 for 16 in the Holmes game. 0 for 2 from 3 point range and 3 for 5 from the FT line. 17 points. Also I believe he got many of his points off break away lay ups.

I doubt very seriously he'll get 16 shots with Simpson and Mcgraw in the lineup.

With that being said though, I agree I too would pay the $5 to se Mcgraw vs Henderson and Simpson vs R. Johnson

Only one team that showed me anything, and that was Highlands. Cov Cath and Boone I didn't think they showed me much.

I am a Holmes grad, but to say CCH and BC don't have much, or can't beat Holmes is silly. And I will go out on a very short lim and say CCH is the Team that has the best shot, as usual.

Can CCH beat Holmes? Yes. Should they? No.

As to Boone, I think Holmes proved last night that Boone isn't going to match up as well with them as CCH and Highlands.

If I'm Holmes, I much rather have to beat Boone in the semi's than beat Highlands and then face CCH in the finals.

Lets face it in a few weeks we all will know who is going to be #1 should be some great districts and regional games for fans to watch.
