Seeing RP's post about Will in the other forum got me to thinking...when all is said and done where would you rank Will among Trinity's great QBs?

 

I haven't seen many outside of 1997 on so I am not sure how valid my opinion would be on the matter, but I would probably rank it this way. Bear in mind I am only ranking them since then too.

 

1. Brian Brohm

2. Will Stein

3. Nick Petrino

4. Geoff Riddle

5. Brad Savko

6. Troy Thomas

7. Brian King(or was it Billy?)

8. Dennis Edge

 

I know Jeff Brohm was better than most of the QBs on here(all except Brian Brohm really), but I was too young to really remember watching him play.

I've been watching the ROCKS over 40 years. We have had too many great signal callers to mention them all. Thanks guys for all the great memories. Here is my partial list:

I personally wouldn't put Savko ahead of Riddle, but that is just my opinion.

He was quite an athlete. He played QB and got a baseball scholarship to Kentucky.

After BB, and possible JB, you can put them in about any order you wish. They were all pretty darn good.

I dunno, I think Nick Petrino and Will Stein both deserve the next tier then everyone after that.

 

Nick was one of the most exciting QBs to watch that Trinity has had in my recollection. He was a major threat to scoot and pass. That 50 something touchdown scramble against Henry Clay back in 06 was amazing!

Then again Craig DeSensi had 2 perfect seasons with titles to go with it, so it is hard to pick against him too!

For the benefit of you youngsters,

 

Tom Domhoff (Class of 68) was a star qb under Coach Kennedy and got a football scholarship to Kentucky.

 

Dennis Scully (Class of 70) was our qb during my favorite season. (The season that started the tradition and created a football monster. Our 1st state championship team for the class of 1969. (Did I mention I'm in the class of 69)

The TD dive against Male wasn't bad either.

Pep...from my experiences with both, I certainly would. Brad gets a knock for being between two sensational QB's, he really did so many things great. His only knock was not being a vocal leader. He was awesome, really.

John Quillen - Brandon Barth - Dennis Burch - Dave Harpring all were good signal callers - and should be on the list - #1 has to be Brian Brohm - He was undefeated in the playoffs as a starter for 3 years

Hard to list...been so many good ones over the years. Brian Brohm would be top easily with Jeff right behind him.
