Mark Halperin of The New York Times is saying that multiple sources tell him that Mitt Romney will announce his withdraw from the 2008 presidential campaign later today.

WLEX just made the announcement. It is official. Romney is out.
Not totally official yet. Romney will probably announce it at the upcoming news conference.

Just heard it on Fox News . Listening to Rush's spin on it now . Wow Rush says don't blame him and his talk radio cohorts when the Republican party loses in November .

Almost all of the talk radio guys have been railing against McCain all along. Guess Rush doesn't run the party after all.

Great. I can vote for the Democrat candidate and have at least 4 years of a liberal president or I can vote for McCain and guarantee at least 8 years of a liberal president.

I think Rush really wants Hillary to win.

 

We laugh at the notion but when did his career REALLY take off? It was when Clinton was first elected. He had a TV show and radio for those years. I would not be surprised if he and some others wouldn't savor the notion of lining their pockets with a Hillary or Obama presidency.

That's what I'm saying. It's good for his ratings if Hillary or Obama get elected. At least with Romney he could rail on Democrats who opposed him. I think it will be hard for him to hold a large audience while heavily criticizing a Republican.
