January 30, 200818 yr Huckabee was my #1 choice but Edwards was #2. Now that both are pretty much done (One is totally done)
January 30, 200818 yr Will he be the choice for Vice-President for Obama or Clinton? If they want to win, then no.
January 30, 200818 yr This is good for Hillary and Obama, now the Dems have an either/or choice. The Republicans have been much slower about thinning the herd and as much as I like some of the lower tier candidates, a two man race gives a much clearer picture.
January 30, 200818 yr Actually I kind of hoped Edwards would have won the nomination. I would have loved to hear him... ...give lip service to the plight of the poor while defending $400 haircuts. ...give lip service to the plight of the homeless while living in an estate big enough for several families. Edwards is the worst kind of hypocrite as far as I'm concerned. If he truly cared about the poor he professes to want to take care of then he could have donated a large percentage of his personal fortune to help them, while living a much more modest lifestyle. It's easy to talk the talk, let's see him walk the walk. Donate all but 100K a year and get a mortgage for a modest home. Had he been elected would he have his Secret Service detail chase the ambulances for him?

It's impossible to be a genuinely compassionate person unless you give away all of your wealth? Since you are probably asking that he give away 95% of his net worth, I'm wondering if you would be willing to do the same? And are you certain that he has not, in fact, donated a "large percentage" of his fortune to some charity? Just out of curiousity, which candidate that has given away most of their wealth do you support?
January 30, 200818 yr Someone needs to be with rockmom at all times... Now, now...I'm fine. First, I never expected he'd make it through the primaries. Second, as a registered independent, I knew he'd never make it to the General Election. Thirdly, even if I were registered Democrat, by the time the KY primaries came around in May, it would have been too late for me to help him. I'll just wait it out now, and pick the lesser of two evils in November.
January 30, 200818 yr Someone needs to be with rockmom at all times... She figures John will be available to "do lunch" now.
January 30, 200818 yr The Edwards family donated more than $350,000 to charity, including the International Rescue Committee and Habitat for Humanity http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,273133,00.html
January 30, 200818 yr While this doesn't surprise me, it does sadden me. I've said all along that he had my vote.
January 30, 200818 yr Edwards also received $333,334 in royalties for his book "Home: The Blueprints of Our Lives." The money was donated to charity. That's a total of $683,334 to charities.
January 30, 200818 yr That's a total of $683,334 to charities. Still not enough. Until he lives in squallor, he can't be compassionate.
