Holmes has a very nice ball team, they truly overmatched the Cawood Trojans in an impressive win over them as well.

Not a surprise that they scored under 40. However, 13 under 40 is a bit much. You've got a team that struggles offensively against average defenses going against a team that makes it difficult to even get an offensive set started and you've got yourself a low output.

 

Holmes one flaw is on offense.

This was the first time I have caught a Ryle game and needless to say, I was not impressed. Holmes had the talent but Ryle seemed to go into the game expecting to lose. Holmes was off a bit of on offense tonight, but clearly defense is what will carry them far into the region or state playoffs.

Ryle is now averaging just under 50 points a game this season.

The program is in a bad way at Ryle to be certain.

 

Not sure if it's a lack of talent, coaching, or a combination of the two, but things sure aren't going well at all.

Give Holmes the credit here as they are just amazing on defense and might be one of the best defenses in the state. I predict they will take the 9th this season if they keep playing D like that.

I was at the game and came away impressed overall with Holmes. Ryle had alot of good looks in the first half when all the starters were in (heard they shot 30% in first half):confused:For some reason mid way through the 3rd qtr when the game had just started to really get away from them, they mailed it in and played young guys the rest of the way. Last night Ryle was a shadow of what they were at the start of the season, big man Russel quitting, senior starter Porter out with the flu, and there biggest man inside Tate Nichols out for the season with a broken foot. Definitely not enough guns to compete with Holmes. I also thought Henderson was OK last night, great defense & drove to the hoop well, but his outside shot was off.

A lot of bad luck swinging Ryle's way. It is tough for them to keep their heads up. Tate Nichols hates to be on the bench all season. The break came at the worst time but he has been playing on it broken for at least the last 5 games maybe more. They need to finish strong and there is no reason way they can't. They have played much better than what they did last night. They need to learn form last night and move on.
