I don't think McCain will get that big of a boost because Guliani had already lost a lot of his support. McCain will certainly benefit the most.

I think Huckabee's support will begin to wane as conservatives rally behind the only candidate with any shot at stopping McCain.

Since the day he entered the race I have supported Barack Obama, and that hasn't change.

Personally, I feel McCain is the Republicans' only shot at winning the election this time. He is the only candidate with enough appeal to moderate Democrats to win enough of their votes to pull out the win. Currently, we hear a lot of complaining from conservative pundits about McCain's views on certain issues. But, if McCain gets the nomination, those same people will rally behind McCain against Clinton or O'bama. In short, I think a McCain vs. Clinton/O'bama election will cause more Dem swing voters to switch their votes than Republican swing voters. jmo.

I would vote for McCain because he has the best shot of beating Obama or Hillary. If strictly evaluating a person, I like Obama the best, but don't agree with any of his policies, McCain is a close second there though. Policy wise I tend to agree with Ron Paul the most with a big exception to that being the war.

I would seriously consider voting for Ron Paul.

The general election will be about the war. McCain and Mitt have both stated they are not in favor of ending the war contrary to what the majority of Americans want. IMO, if war is the main issue the Republicans lose, and it will be the main issue.

The war will not be the main issue unless something changes drastically in Iraq during the next few months. Events will dictate the main issues of the campaign but I expect the economy and illegal immigration to both be bigger issues.

Now, the people have plenty of moola in their pockets and they will care more about immigration and the war. But as long as they are worried about "the change in their pocket going chingalingaling" the war and immigration are not only back seat issues they are in the rumble seat.

I prefer Huckabee. However, if he continues to fade and is out of contention by the time Kentucky votes, I will look seriously at McCain. I generally do not give much consideration to endorsements, but the one from General Schwarzkopt got my attention. I admire him and his opinion greatly.

I think you're right. In fact, I think the worse the economy does, the better off the Republicans are, because it takes attention off of the war.
