Who is the team to beat in the 12th Region?

Featured Replies

I say Lincoln County will repeat had Champs.

Right now it looks like it is Lincolns to take but we will find out alout next week as Lincoln travels to Raider country.

I agree Lincoln Co. is the favorite, but what about Wayne Co. or Boyle Co.? Do either of these teams have a chance to make a run come tournament time?

Tourney time is for upsets to happen always do- but yes Lincoln will be favorite going into it after that you have more than likely 6 teams with legit chances to cut down the nets

Lincoln - favorite

McCreary Central- Close behind

Then you have some other contenders that on any given night can beat Lincoln - and alot always depends on the draw also lets face it.

Wayne County, West Jessamine, Boyle County and Somerset. These 6 teams are legit threats to win it. Each have different qualities- some size, some speed, some experience some coaching- but all in all any of these 6 can get it done in the regional tourney.

Lincoln is the best right now. McCreary Central will kill you if you can't stop Aaron Watts. If Watts is hot, nobody in the 12th can beat them. Don't sleep on anyone in the 12th, it is a pretty physical region.

Noah Keeton for Lincoln and Aaron Watts is going to be a shot out but Noah and PATS win by 12 or more on the road next week

Watts is great but his the rest of his supporting cast can't hold a candle to the Pats.

I would have to agree 100% with you. Lincoln Co has shown that they have 3 players that coud score 30 points or better at anytime.

We will find out who the best team is right now on Tuesday night, even though there are several teams who you would have to say have a shot at winning the 12th, these two teams have looked the most impressive so far.

Hmm.. interesting. Do you want to retract that now? ;)

I would still have Lincoln County listed as #1. McCreary's win last night closed the gap some, but the game was at McCreary so I'll give Lincoln a bit of a pass. After those two it's wide open. But realistically, unless there is a big upset of either of those teams, it should be either Lincoln or McCreary at Rupp.

Good observation but the one you COULD be wrong about is Mercer. With all this crap going on over there it may push them in the right direction. If they bring Taylor back then they are as athletic as anyone. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make it to region and give someone a tough game.

Southwestern really isn't that disappointing. They lost a lot and in high school basketball it is hard to reload. They've had what you would call a tough year. I would actually slide Danville into the disappointing stage.

West is good and is coached really well. Always play Lincoln tough so if they could get there you never know as well!

Somerset's "new style" of play seems to be working for Shawn. Hopefully he can get over the "All A curse" and actually play in March.

Garrard - One sub?

Boyle - Not as talented as they have been in the past but it is hard to count Ronnie out. He always has his teams playing hard and ready to play.

Wayne - Way to hot and cold for me. On some nights looks like they could win the region. Other nights have a hard time scoring. Interesting.
