January 28, 200818 yr I care, to an extent. I have no problem with Gillispie's method of coaching or handling of the team. It is his team and he needs to be given the reigns to run it his way. It is way too early to judge the results so I'm neutral on that topic until he has enough time to show what he can do. I'm not crazy about his demeanor towards answering questions and his perceived arrogance in dealing with people around the program, but that is what it is and certainly no reason to not support him. Its a side issue, I guess, but not anything new for coaches. But his character is important to me. He represents the University and he is in a position of influence and power. And that is not just with the 20 players he works with every day, but also in the eyes of many youngsters throughout the state. I expect him to use his head and not embarrass himself or the University at a minimum. But as you say, if he wins, a lot of sins will be forgiven by the fans and the powers that be. Good or bad as it may be. :thumb: I agree Watusi. Character is very important, especially at a job with as high profile as U.K..

January 28, 200818 yr Did everyone bash Pitino after finishing 14-14 with his first season at UK?? Billy G is right there with that first year record at 9-9. It's not fair to give up on him yet
January 28, 200818 yr I'm not sure why people make a big deal out of him having a bar and wine cellar in his house...I have both as well.
