I accept Dakotah and Juan as really good players, but the others are small an average and I mean no harm to the kids

James and Hardin will be good in the future if they keep working, but i just dont see them contibuting to GC this year. Hardin is a good pitcher but just hasnt seen any varsity starts, or any time on varsity. Once he gets in there and used to playing against the older kids he will be fine, as well as James. These two arent quite there with the other members of the "SS".

ABSOLUTELY NOT..... I think Greg Logan is an unreal coach, I have followed him from the time he started the Yankees and I have a close relationship with him. What statement meant was that Boyd was simply more talented, Boyd was not just simply better, (I think Greenup proved that). This was simply about last year not this upcoming year, just making that clear.

 

I think Boyd has a good program. They always have good teams. I am not trying to put them down by any means. But this year I don't think they will even win there Dist. Fairview will surprise a few teams this year. Again I think Boyd has some of the best coaches in the state. They will be down a couple of years in my opinion. They just don't have the athletes they had in the past. My guess it will be Greenup. Rowan will be there to. Russell has some pitching but not much at the plate. Raceland will have some real good players but the pitching not to deep. But that why you play the games and in baseball the best team does not always win. Play ball.

I agree 95%. I think that Hardin with his pitching and James playing the outfield they would be up with the "SS" by the begining of the 08 season. Playing varsity ball will definently help the two. I also think they will contribute this year maybe in the district tourney maybe in regionals, it will be exciting to see them get the chance to contribute.

Yes, it will help them alot. But i have also heard,jus like GCHS fan, that this "SS" group was jus made by Greenslate,Reed, and Staten because they are all very close friends and were on varsity last year together. So i dont think that we can say they are in this group to jus by thier talent level.

Well, I don't think you came to many games that Greenup played then because if you did you wouldn't be saying that.

This year is going to be different because they are reigning 16th region champs and I would expect for teams to throw their best to try to knock them off in regular season play and tournament play. Greenup was not expected to win last year, but I think it was a credit to the kids for how hard they worked. They practiced long and hard hours in the snow, rain, and sunshine to have a very successful year last year. Last year was no fluke by any means. But this year, it is going to be hard to repeat simply because you are on top starting the year and every team is out to beat them. With the veteran leadership though, I don't think this will be a problem. Players, coaches, and parents know what it takes to win and they are willing to put the time in to do so. Imo it is a great time to be a GCHS BASEBALL FAN. I wish I could say the same for all sports at GCHS!

Im not saying that these teams do not have the chance to beat them, However, for Greenup not to get out of the district means a team is going to have to beat Hieneman (who i dont think had a loss in the 16th region at all last year, I may be wrong but I do not recall one), and also have a pitcher that will shut down the Musketeers, if any of these teams have a chance of doing that it would be Raceland.

I agree to some extent, but Heinemen cant pitch every game for Greenup.
