East has been conditioning since November. They took a break after fall ball for a few weeks and then started.

I think all the Teams in the area have a good chance, with all the teams having some very good players, and I agree that we are all very balanced and should be a very competitive season for all the teams, on any given day any team can beat any other team!

Gcguard-who do you think could possibly shut Greenup down? Just wondering you said that you thought Raceland could do it or at least that is what I thought you said. Do you think the Rams have a pitcher to shut Greenup down?

You have to remember that GC was predicted to win the Region last year either and they put it together and made a strong run. Likewise could happen with a couple of teams this year. I look for Boyd, East Carter, Raceland and Greenup to all have a shot in my opinion. But GC is still on top right now until someone knocks them off.:thumb:

Well I do not think that Raceland can shut them down in districts because I doubt that they can hit Hieneman, I am not familiar with Racelands staff this year. I do know that they did not have a true ace last year and they graduated their two best, so I really doubt that they have anyone this year.

Hieneman is a good pitcher, but he does not throw in the 90's so he is very hitable, if the defense is off or his location a good team will beat him. He will not strike out 12 a game consistently, you should be proud of his schlorship but, BC has sent kids to alot bigger schools than Morehead who were pitchers that did throw in the low 90's

No he does not throw in the 90's, but he is effective. I have watched him pitch a lot and have never seen him get hit extremely hard, and I have seen those guys who throw in the 90's get hit hard. It also does not matter at all how many strike outs there are in a game, the way I look at it is it takes at least three pitches to get a strike out but only one to get an out. At this age pitch count is critical.

Well, since those guys WON'T be playing for Boyd this year, they will have no bearing on who wins the region.

Raceland has had pitchers at U of L , GCHS at Uk, Boyd at UK and Marshall, Ashland at Uk, EKU, Murray, and Western and thats in the last 20 years. I understand your pride an I understand GCHS is looking for anything to hang their hat on, so I will wish you guys luck on this baseball season. I have alot of good friends from Greenup who I have repect for, an I wish Mr. Hieneman the best of luck just don't expect too much out of this young man. and good luck on your search for a new football and basketball coach

Greenup really doesn't need to look much farther then last season's trip to Applebee's to find something to "hang their hat on. Heineman is a good pitcher and student and shouldn't be knocked because of where is attending college.

Agreed! Anytime you can play at the next level, no matter where, it is an accomplishment. The fact that he is going on academic money is even better.

Martin,Carver and Wilson will play a big role for the Rams this season. I look for S.Reynolds to give the Rams a boost on the mound as well.

Wilson has the tools to become a dandy pitcher and Carver can flat out hit the baseball. P. martin is one of the most complete players I have watched play the game and if he continues to work hard, has a bright future ahead of him at the next level.
