  1. No I don't believe that was the case at all actually. Greenup definitely wasn't afraid to play if that is what you were implying. Greenup has at least 4 pitchers in the rotation that could shut down the Rams. They just didn't want to tear up the field that has had so much work done to it.
  2. I have heard alot of talk about him. But from seeing games last year I have to say he hasn't proved anything in my opinion. :idunno:
  3. Did you watch any Raceland games last year?
  4. Reed quitting had absolutely nothing to do with Carter, or any other players, or coaches, for that matter. He simply wasn't having fun, and missed baseball so he went back to it. There was nothing more to it than that.
  5. Greenup gets the win in 6 innings, the game was called off early because Lewis doesnt have lights. Lewis County jumped out early, but then Greenup settled down and got their bats going.
  6. Drew Scaggs pitched the complete game last night, and had a very impressive outing. Zac Smith had a good game in right field for the Musketeers, as well as left-fielder Juan Staten going 2-4. Following his 4-4 game against Lewis Co. Monday night.
  7. I know one 8th grader that got some time on varsity in Cocoa, and also has seen some time since returning is Josh Reed. I also read that article in the Independent this morning where he had a RBI.
  8. Craft also came in for Greenup and closed the last two innings, and done a fine job.
  9. I think that Greenslate will be one of the better pitchers of the season. Along with James and Martin, of course Heineman will be number one for Greenup County. I believe that Hardin will be a good contribution to the J.V. team but I don't know how much varsity time he will get. There is just so much talent in Greenup it is going to be hard for every young player coming up to get a lot of playing time. But it just depends on who works the hardest and shows Coach Logan they can help the team the most.
  10. Well, I don't think you came to many games that Greenup played then because if you did you wouldn't be saying that.
  11. Yes, Greenslate will probably the best sophomore pitcher in the region, as long as he performs to his top potential. I have followed him since his days in Little League and he has continually progressed as a pitcher and as an all-around player. I also have heard about the "Super Sophomores" group, AKA the SS, however the only players that were included in it were Staten, Reed, and Greenslate, not saying the other sophomores aren't good players just the same. That group was just formed by those three because they are all really close, and they were on the Varsity team last year.
  12. I will have to agree with you on this one. Zack Reed played second several times last year and I don't recall Juan Staten playing infield at all during the high school season. Both of these boys are very talented and would have no problem playing infield or outfield.
  13. I have followed GCHS for the past 2 yrs (been to almost every game) and alot of what people have said on here doesn't make sense as far as talent and positions. Not to step on anyone's toes, BUT some of the predictions that have been mentioned in this thread and others are coming from people who have obviously not followed this team closely. Having said that, I think those players listed above will most likely see alot of playing time...not sure those are going to be the positions they will be in. This is a VERY talented team and there are many combinations that Coach Logan can go with. ALOT of these boys can play several positions. No one is going to know until they step on the field. Chances are the players won't even know until then either. GCHS is in good hands with Coach Logan. He will play the boys where they are needed not where they or their parents want. Go GCHS!!!
  14. Way to go Greenup!!! You brought home the trophy!!!!:dancingpa
  15. Greenup has a good chance to advance. They have a very talented team with excellent coaching. Remember any team can be beat at any time. All of the teams that have made it this far should be very proud. To get this far definitely says alot!!! Great job to all and good luck GCHS!!!!!
