I have no problem with responsible Gun ownership. I believe in waiting periods, and atleast some sort of control over who gets them.

 

Do I think that Joe-Blow Citizen should have access to a Mac-10 or Oozie, no I do not.

I checked other. I have shot a shotgun and a rifle. I'm a pretty good shot. I don't hunt. But I don't have an issue with hunting, other than deer hunting is incredibly boring, cold and makes me all achey!

 

I have no problem with people owning guns, whether as collectors, as a sport, for hunting, or for protection.

 

I do have a problem with people owning guns and not having been required to fulfill a safety course. It should be required.

 

I absolutely agree with HHSDad that a ballistic registry should be in place.

 

I believe that if you want to own a fire arm, you should be licensed.

 

I believe that owning a gun should be a constitutional constitutional privlege, not a constitutional right.

I'm all for gun ownership but I think something gets missed in the 2nd amendment

I as well am all for gun ownership.. I have a total a 15 guns I collector some, i also use them for hunting and for protection.

I checked the wrong box, I own and support gun ownership. I think that a national gun registry is a bad idea because at some point if liberals had too much control they would use that registration to take the guns and make all gun owners criminals if they did not then turn over their guns. I believe it has been well documented that back in the 30's Germany had a national gun registry. After getting all guns registered Hitler then ordered they be collected for the safety of the people. That as I recall didn't turn out too well.

"All other adults should have unrestricted access to most firearms, including automatic weapons" - First off, I guess I should disclose that I am a federal agent for the U.S. Treasury, have been a firearms instructor for 20 years, and have fired automatic weapons on countless occasions. I personally own numerous weapons (mostly handguns) and consider my very pro-gun ownership. That being said, I see no reason why the general public should have unfettered access to fully automatic weapons. The policy that is in place now making it both expensive and cumbersome to obtain a license to own an automatic weapon is there for a reason - they are more difficult to operate and inherently more dangerous than single shot/semi-automatic weapons. I don't think we'd being doing society a favor to put these type of weapons in the hands of any Tom, Dick, and Harry who wants one.

I also am a member and support the NRA and would urge others that believe that we have the God given right as law abiding citizens to own any firearm that we wish to join this group before all of our rights (in all areas) are gone.

That is not what I am saying. The current policy restricts ALL felons from owning a gun. Not all felonies, by a long shot, are violent crimes.

 

So its alright for every Tom, Dick and Harry to own a shotgun, rifle or pistol, but not an automatic weapon? Where's the logic in that?

We have a fully automatic AR-15/M-16, AK-47, and SKS.

 

It is not cheap to own...........and not smart to just start shooting.
