Like I said much earlier, I proably wouldn't allow violent criminals to own firearms. And I'd be willing to bet that every person on BGP has failed to abide by the laws and rules of our society at some time during their life.

And sure, everyone has broken a law at some point in time - but our society says if you break a felony law - not just any law (jaywalking, reckless driving, bad check, etc.) - and are caught and convicted, you forfeit some of your rights. Maybe it's just me and my law enforcement background, but I'm quite comfortable with that rule.

I understand your view as a law enforcement agent. Don't get me wrong, I'm not willing to write a blank check. And my "2nd chance" doesn't necessarily mean the right to own a gun. But how about we drop the 2nd chance argument. I belive violent criminals should not be allowed to own guns. You believe that no felons should own guns. We'll leave it at that.
