January 26, 200818 yr In the liner notes of Decade Young mentions that after they did the final take on "Ohio" Crosby went over to the corner and cried. I remember a professor at EKU when I was there who had been at Kent State during the shootings. He was a poli sci teacher and only talked about it once. He knew the girl who was going from one class building to the other because the guard had pulled away and she thought it was safe to walk to the next building. She was wrong. Of all the protest songs "Ohio" was one of the most blatant about it's message and named names about who Young thought was responsible. 4 Dead in O HI O

January 5, 200917 yr I listen to all types of music and it has never led me to do anything bad or good. Me either; unless you count hurling the closest object at the radio if a Toby Keith song comes on...
January 5, 200917 yr I feel very, very sorry for you. And I mean that.Jeez, even I know some Neil Young songs.
January 5, 200917 yr No, music doesn't do this to people. Movies and video games don't either. I get angry when I watch shows on how violent video games are ruining the youth. If you feel it will have a terrible affect on your children, don't let them watch the movies, play the games or listen to the music. I just have a hard time believing that a video game could cause someone to snap and murder someone.
January 6, 200917 yr And good parenting would be not letting their kids listen to any form of music, rap, rock, country, that has messages that are not positive ones. I guarantee that listening to the rap music of Toby Mac is a negative.[/QUOTE] I think you meant this the other way around.
January 6, 200917 yr Music can have a profound effect on mood. There are times when I'm in a bad mood and just the right song comes on and changes it. When I work out there is no question I go harder when the right pump up song shuffles onto my ipod. Music is powerful.
