Tubby couldn't recruit to UK the former bad boy of the SEC (before he got to town) how in the world is he gonna recruit to South Carolina?

I heard that Bobby Petrino was leaving Arkansas as early as next Wednesday to take the South Carolina basketball job for Dave Odom!

As for Tubby leaving Minn., I agree with LRCW in that would really suprise me if he would.

With the way some of the coaching moves/changes have went I have also learned to never say never. Tubby leaving would shock me though.

Yeah I know and that is why I have given Billy G some slack for this year. However I just responding to what RickyP had to say, and acting like he left a terrible roster here. Tubby left a roster that was definitely good enough to be a tournament team again, and probably atleast 2nd round again. He definitely didn't leave a roster that is going to struggle to make the NIT this year it looks like.

How about Ryan Hogan, Carlos Toomer, Steve Massiello (Spell ??)and Myron Anthony--all wonderful Pitino recruits who did so much for the good and advancement of UK basketball.

 

The point is, Pitino and Tubby both brought players to the school that didn't need to be there and it happens all over the country. NOT every player that signs withe a D-1 program is going to be a star, just that simple!

I very much doubt that he will leave. He is happy there and is appreciated.

Knowing the type of person Tubby is I would be shocked, but after seeing that Dave Odom plans to announce his retirement at South Carolina at the end of the year, I bet Tubby wishes he would have stayed on at Kentucky for one more year.

Life's tough, if you're a construction worker or an NCAA basketball coach. If the powers that be take a dislike to you and treat you what you consider poorly, you can wait until they come and fire you or you can leave. Goes on every day.

We can throw fits all we want about Tubby and BCG comparissons and fans "running" off the Smiths'", but in the end it was his decision. Like him or not, when Tubby was here, fans still watched the games, they still bought UK merchandise and they still put fannies in the seats at RUPP. How many fans called him up and gripped at him at 3 a.m.? How many did put "For Sale" signs in his yard? Fans mostly just gripe.

 

If he felt bad about the fans response, he should have avoided radio shows (that he was not hosting and were being filtered ,anyway, for his benefit) and newspapers and all would be fine. Few, if any, approached him with complaints. He felt underappreciated, had a way out and a way to add Saul to his staff and took it. More power to him and anyone that wants to trade in UK blue for Gopher Maroon is more than welcome to now.
