Rich apparently shredded WVU player files that documented everything from academic records to strength and conditioning data. And he did it the day AFTER he was introduced as Michigan head coach.

If true, that is a really weird story.

What would be the point?

Trying to make your successor fail so that you look better? Its not like UM plays WVU, so its not giving him a direct competitive advantage.

I would like to think that RR isn't/wasn't that blatantly stupid, BUT we see "smart" people in the news everyday. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

It will be interesting to see if the NCAA looks into why a football coach COULD shred documents related to student athletes and the school not even have a clue... Seems to me that WVA is a tad laxed in their institutional control....

If this is true...what a sad deal and a nut case!

A couple of things:

None of this is confirmed, just sad, bitter hatred coming from a school that lost their coach, let's keep that in mind. Lots of accusations, no one actually saying they saw it.

How does the coach of another school end up inside the athletic facilities at WVU? And is then "witnessed" by "several people" shredding documents and taking files and no one does anything?

I guess the real question becomes why? Why would he shred these documents? I guess it is common practice in the business world to shred documents that pertain to confidential matters or methods that are considered trade secrets. Could it also be that he now has an entire state that despises him, that they might divulge every detail of anything he ever did at WVU to anyone who would want to know?

Finally, do they not have computers in West Virgina?
