January 15, 200818 yr He has been on and off all year. I personally dislike the dude. He needs to grow up and get his panties out of a bunch.
January 15, 200818 yr When he came out of college I liked him. I liked him last year. I've seen him interview and he interviews well. Not being a Chargers fans I've not watched him a ton. I lost some respect for him in the Denver game. I lost more respect for him in Tennessee game when he ran his mouth again. I now think he is officially a mental midget who will get his come uppance in years to come. See, that's just it. The Denver game is a media-created story. Matt Wilhelm was jaw-jacking with Cutler, Rivers is standing beside him and atta-boying his defense as they come off the field. Heck, in the extended clip he actually makes eye contact with Clinton Hart (who made the third down pass defense) and follows him all the way off of the field. I saw every play of the Tennessee game and can't recall what you are referring to. The stuff yesterday, I wouldn't have done but its certainly not in even the same league with some of the behavior I have watched over the years. He's easy bait since he's kind of a pasty, dorky looking kid with a goofy face and haircut. So was Farve when he was that age. I dunno, I think the kid needs a break.
January 15, 200818 yr After seeing Indy fans boo the girl at halftime that was wearing a Pats jersey, it serves them right.... BTW, I hate Philip Rivers about as much as I hate Peyton Manning....
January 15, 200818 yr After the way he acted after the win against Indy I am now rooting for the Patriots to smoke the Chargers and Rivers. I loved his chatter and talkback with the fans, especially as he was exiting the field. Anyone who has ever sat in the endzone at a pro football game knows how rowdy and mouthy drunk fans get. They had the mike on and he didn't cuss or anything, just good natured stuff. What is the problem with this? and comparing him to Ryan Leaf(C'mon). All of the ESPN announcers anymore(except for Kornheiser and Wilbon) seem to have taken the radio style hater on everyone, except God-forbid Favre and Brady.

As a Pats fan I hope he continues to run his mouth to the fans. If hes doing that San Diego has NO shot at winning. Your not going to win Super Bowls argueing with the crowd and jawing with the other quarterback.
January 15, 200818 yr I like to see players who act like they have been there before. Rivers needs to grow up. Hopefully the Pats will dismantle him this week.
January 15, 200818 yr He needs to be greatly humbled! His attitude reminds me of Ryan Leaf except he is somewhat successful.
January 15, 200818 yr His dad is a hs football coach, so his attitude surprises me more. I would have figured he would have gotten some tough lessons from him. I just wish a lot of these guys would play the game with less of the on field schananagons (oh yeah, I went schananagons on ya'll!).
January 15, 200818 yr According to latest reports, he may not play in the AFC Championship because of his knee. He is "questionable." Oh, and I can't stand the guy.
January 15, 200818 yr I don't particularly like Rivers, and I think he'd be better served to stay on the sideline and not jaw with fans, but I agree with Hearsay. It's overblown. He isn't the first guy to get caught up in the game and jaw with fans and it's not like he's got a long track record of doing things like that. Also, he's a better QB than he's given credit for. He struggled some earlier in the year, but you have to remember this is only his second season as the starter and he was playing for a new coach...that shouldn't be a shock. Other than the rough stretch earlier this year, he has played very well since taking over as the Chargers starter.
