January 15, 200818 yr I don't like him because he and Eli are constantly compared to each other. They were traded for each other when Eli spurned the Chargers.
January 15, 200818 yr I loved his chatter and talkback with the fans, especially as he was exiting the field. Anyone who has ever sat in the endzone at a pro football game knows how rowdy and mouthy drunk fans get. They had the mike on and he didn't cuss or anything, just good natured stuff. What is the problem with this? and comparing him to Ryan Leaf(C'mon). All of the ESPN announcers anymore(except for Kornheiser and Wilbon) seem to have taken the radio style hater on everyone, except God-forbid Favre and Brady. Yeah, thats a classy pro, gloat and brag to a drunk... Personally, I don't have any problem with the Chargers, and haven't really with Rivers until last week. The stuff at Denver was overblown. I like LT. I like Gates. I like Lorenzo Neal. But that stuff last week, that just wasn't needed. I watched the game, but the first highlight I saw on ESPN I believe was by John Anderson and I think he summed it up best just in that small highlight. "You are a grown man; You are a professional; You are better than that."
January 16, 200818 yr I don't like him because he and Eli are constantly compared to each other. I am just Glad Big Ben dropped to Pittsburgh instead of Rivers. IMO he is the better of the three from that draft.
January 16, 200818 yr I like the Chargers, I think Rivers is getting better and is a good QB and I actually like him till he started all that jawing at Cutler. Cutler seems like a really good guy and doesnt have a 1/4th of the supporting cast that Rivers has and for Rivers to taunt him like that is classless, I thought the trash talking to the Indy fans was funny but Cutler is a good guy and basically a local product so I have to side with him...
January 16, 200818 yr They just compared Rivers' mouth to Chad Johnsons' on ESPN... Except Chad does it to players joking around Rivers does it to the Fans.
January 16, 200818 yr See, that's just it. The Denver game is a media-created story. Matt Wilhelm was jaw-jacking with Cutler, Rivers is standing beside him and atta-boying his defense as they come off the field. Heck, in the extended clip he actually makes eye contact with Clinton Hart (who made the third down pass defense) and follows him all the way off of the field. I saw every play of the Tennessee game and can't recall what you are referring to. The stuff yesterday, I wouldn't have done but its certainly not in even the same league with some of the behavior I have watched over the years. He's easy bait since he's kind of a pasty, dorky looking kid with a goofy face and haircut. So was Farve when he was that age. I dunno, I think the kid needs a break. The Denver game was not a media created story. I was watching the game. Rivers walked out on the field and singled out Cutler and ran his mouth. He stood there and waved bye-bye at him. I was watching the game with 5-6 other people. They all saw the same thing and couldn't believe a professional player would act that way. You're right about the Tennessee game, my mistatke. It was the Oakland game, where he got into it with some of the fans and also the Oakland players. Then more of it at Indy. I'm not a Chargers fan, but I've never disliked them. I do now. I actually used to like Rivers, but I now think he's a classless oaf. NFL players have long memories. He's going to get his hat handed to him at some point.
January 16, 200818 yr The Denver game is the first time I ever saw a NFL QB taunting the opposing QB. Can anyone think of another time this has happened?
