What does Trimble County need to do to improve in 2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Trimble has plenty of skilled kids returning. If they continue to improve like they do every year they will be a force.

 

#1 still need to find a replacement for Bird at the Running back spot

The Raiders will be very young. They have learned how to win over the last couple of years and that has got alot of excitment up and the numbers are increasing.

 

I heard that Larry Sullivan was moving to QB and that they were going to the spread passing game. Jordan Hunt and Michael Edens got some experience in the back field last year after Bird got hurt, so that should help.

 

Defensively the Raiders should be in good shape with there mulitple front defense.

Trimble Co. will definitely miss the presence of David Bird, Justin Hawkes, and Jesse Peters. Sullivan was a decent player, but i did not realize he was going to play QB. He must have showed Coach Poynter something nobody else has seen. Best of Luck to the Raiders this coming season! :thumb:

Yes those 3 are very very good players and will be missed very much too go along with several others that will graduate. Will be hard to find replacement for them, but Poynter must find them.:thumb:

You are 100% right about that. Coach Poynter will have a good team. He knows how to develop player and he has several quality kids returning, some that made the All Conference and All District teams.

I had been looking for this Thread glad I found it, Have to agree after last season with Sullivan being all A receiver why move him to QB 1.he's a lefty and to short 5'8" / 5'9" maybe 2. Zero 0 exp. behind center 3. Where's the future in him (senior). Leave him where he is best and most effective WR. As far as the rest speedsters Micheal Edens and Aunner Posses showed awesome promise at TB and WR. Jordan Hunt is a beast and should be heavily utilized in this years running game. QB ? Jordan Blanton started JV looked very sound and has a future (Freshman) already 5'9" still growing and has the time behind center. In my professional opinion you could cost this young man scholarship opportunity in doing so I truly hope this is not true.Last years stats say way to much to support my statements Sullivan top 10 Rec. (#8) with 38 rec's 614 yds 61.4 ypg 4 TD's these stats are the reason anyone was looking at this man for their college roster. I think this move is more self serving than player serving. If it is true.

What about team serving? Most coaches make decisions based on what's best for the team not an individual player, and with the job Poynter has done there I will trust his judgement.

College Coaches know if someone can play or not. Look at EJ Fields, he played QB at Frankfort and went to UK, but I do not think he is going to be a QB there.

You are absolutely right and if this young man can play QB as well as he did Rec. then I'm sure colleges will continue to look at him. Glad to see there is life out there. Just never got to see him from behind center in any game situations. Hope he works out for the team. And Poynter should know best.Can't wait to see how it unfolds.
