Cantrall Rankings

Featured Replies

They would need to win the All A Classic to be considered. They play Evarts three times, and it is highly possible they'll play a fourth time. Their schedule is not challenging at all, and a first-round All A flameout against Bardstown will not help their cause at all. They knew they had what was supposed to be a good team this year, and should've scheduled appropriately.
It's not like Cumberland had a choice of whether or not to play Evarts, they are in the same District, 2 games is mandatory and the 3rd was a blind draw for the All A. Cumberland has the potential to meet up with some of the top 25 teams this month, so IMO I believe you along with a lot of people will find out they are for real. These rankings do not determine who are the best teams in the state, that fortunately is done on the court.

That rating looks about right to me.:dancingpa

Well so far now I have seen the 3 or 4 different rankings listed on this site and none of them are legit according to the posters on here!! Can someone tell me where we can find the "one" that is supposed to be correct. According to people on here BGP's was no good Litk.haus was no good and now Cantrell's is no good??????????????????????????????????
I actually think these rankings are very accurate. I just believe that there is a team or two outside the top 25 that later on this year will prove that they belong.
I don't think any of us want to admit it, but there are several teams who still today think that they are better than Cov. Cath..... but still have a loss on their record. Time will tell.

CovCath's style of play is not necessarily pretty, but it is effective.

Montgomery is there at 25th.

I don't see How Clark is above Montgomery? Especially when they beat them on Clark's home floor?

However, it's an honor to be mentioned as one of the top teams in KY. Keep it up Indians!

Very well said.
The night before the Covington Catholic game, Elliott County beat Grace Christian Academy of Chattanooga, Tenn., by eight points. Grace is 7-7, which would seem to indicate that they're not that great a team.

Elliott is a top-20 team without a doubt, but top 10? That's very debatable.

Even though thier record is 7-7, they were still a pretty good team. Scott County is 8-7, but still ranked 3rd in the state according to this poll. Now by now means am I saying they are as good as Scott, but I would like to consider this a "quality win" for Elliott County.

Franklin County got their football players out about 4 days prior to that game. They were not in basketball shape and did not play the first half. FC shot very poorly from the line down the stretch, while GRC lit up from three to get back in the game.

Franklin County was definately not full strength and really didn't play that good and still beat GRC.

I stick by my opinion, GRC is not a top 25 team.

When they are on, they deserve to be mentioned in the top 25.. when they aren't so on.. things are different. If they find a middle ground and not let games slip up on them because of their youth.. they will be a dangerous opponent come March.

Who slipped up on them and don't they have seniors on the team? Franklin County has no seniors.
Plus the fact Elliotts game the previous night did not start until 9:30 pm ! While Cov Cath played an afternoon game I believe somewhere between 3-5:30.

Sounds like excuses. Maybe Elliott Co. needs to go deeper into their bench to rest some of the starters. In the All A State and the Sweet Sixteen (if they make it to them), they will have to play 3 or 4 games in 3 or 4 days. Sounds like that might be a problem.

Scott County's been losing to some of the better teams in the nation, so let's not act like all won-loss records are equal.

Who slipped up on them?

I meant not play as good as they are capable of when I said not let games slip up on them... the first two games of the season come to mind, against Franklin Co and Lexington Christian in OT(who GRC beat in the LCA tourny over Christmas by 8). Not a knock on any team.

No right answers.......Thats fursure.

But, we can rank the polls themselves !:p

1. BGP

2. Cantell

3. AP

4.Max Preps

5.Litk.haus

I've looked at Grace's schedule ... they're a decent team, nothing more and nothing less. They would not be a top-30 team in Kentucky, so I hesitate to call it a "quality win."

And Jim Schue is right. Grace's .500 record has no business being compared to Scott County's mark. The strength of schedules are in different galaxies.
