Problem is, he didn't have much talent, which is why we have lost 25 games the past two years and haven't been to a FF in 10

 

Before the 96 championship UK went to the final four 2 Times...Got beat in both...18 years=2 Final Fours...

If Tubby would have taken his teams to the final four 10 years in row with no championships some people still would have been wanting him gone...

We did go from 78-96 without a championship, but, as you said we did make the final four twice (84,93). We also had probation during that period, so there is some leniency granted. Either way, we were not in the longest FF drought in school history.

And as I said if The cats would have went to the final four every year of Tubbys tenure some UK fans would still want him gone...If Tubby while at UK were to break John Woodens NT Record,there would still be a small group of Kentuckians that would not like him as Headcoach...:creepy:

If Tubby went to the final four every year.. or even every couple of years.. nobody would have a problem with him.

Tubby good coach, bad recruiter, Billy G. good recruiter, and (from what I have seen this year) bad coach. He never makes halftime adjustments or changes the gameplan along with refusing to play zone.

I also Know that Most True UK fans could care less what color the coach is...There are more haters out there than what you realize/Yes because of race...

Well it's going to be a whole lot longer wait with Billy G as the coach, but that's just me. Like someone said in another thread, Tubby was apart of that staff to ya know? Before he was the head coach he was an assistant, which does mean he had a helping hand in recruiting. He had 1 final four appearance, but hey, that's more than Billy G will get...

Tubby's last year as an assistant at UK was the 1991 season. When he took over in the '98 season there was no left (player or otherwise) that was connected to his days at UK. The UK classes in '90 and '91 included Mashburn Gimel Martinez and Brassow (though I think he was a Sutton recruit) and Ford was a transfer who sat out '91. Most of the rest of those recruits did not do much during their stay at UK.
