Life's simple pleasures

Featured Replies

It occurred to me as I got into the shower this morning that the water temperature was JUST PERFECT. One of those little things that brings a smile to my face.

I'm not talking about big stuff like your children being born or your favorite team winning the state title (not that these are or should be on the same "level").

Anyone else care to share?

Being able to sleep until your body tells you it is time to get up without the din of an alarm clock to disrupt the harmonious silence of the night or morning.

Simply cleaning out your ears with Q-tips. Nothing better! :thumb:

Being chilled to the bone, and then coming inside to warm up (cocoa optional)!

Hey, Gold. The title of this thread is "Life's simple pleasures", not "Life's simple FANTASIES..."

Unless, of course, you're one of those annoying people who can eat all they want and not gain weight...

Simple pleasures are the greatest. I could probably think of a million, but here are a few right off the top of my head.

Looking at the face of a sleeping child. (especially one you wanted to choke an hour earlier :D)

There is nothing more relaxing than having somebody else wash your hair.

Finding money in a pocket of a jacket or pair of jeans. It's like manna from Heaven.

Wading in a stream during summer ranks pretty high up there too.

The way the air smells right before a thunderstorm.

Roasting marshmallows or hot dogs over a campfire with your kids.

Looking at old pictures.

After a long day, taking off your shoes and socks and going barefoot in the grass.

Some people will think I am crazy, but I really like the smell of gunpowder after you've put a few rounds through your rifle/pistol.

Not blackpowder though, that stuff smells like rotten eggs.

Finally being able to sit down and watch some uninterrupted television and finding Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, Major League, The Natural, Eight Men Out, For Love of the Game or especially Cobb just starting.

^:ylsuper: I agree

A nice hot shower (Just nice and hot and not scalding!)

Yep...I would be one of those people.:D

Enjoying that first cup of coffee in the morning.

Sitting down to supper with my family, and just talking.

Watching my husband sleep.
