Life's simple pleasures

Featured Replies

Outside of a bazillion kid things I could mention, the simplest, yet most consistent pleasure in my life is when I come home, and my little Lucky is beside himself with joy that I'm home. I cannot describe what joy that little guy brings to me when I walk in the door...especially after an exceptionally brutal day.

The second simple pleasure is the joy he gets out of his walks. I am constantly entertained by his energy and obvious pleasure during these outings.

I agree with you on this one. My dogs would go wild when I pulled in the drive. Both of them passed away in the last eight months. I still look for them when I come home. I think my dogs were one of the biggest pleasures I've ever had.

I really like the feeling you get after a really hard workout. The kind where all you want to do is lay down and go to sleep.

Having parents who care!:jump:

Also waking up in the middle of the night and thinking it's work time and then seeing the clock and realizing I still have a few hours of sleep to go...

I was just getting ready to post that. I love when that happens!

Being able to sleep until your body tells you it is time to get up without the din of an alarm clock to disrupt the harmonious silence of the night or morning.

Or can be annoying when your body clock is set for 5:00 AM on M-F and it is Saturday morning.:irked:

When a student says, "I got an A. I have never got an A before in my life. Can I use your phone to call my mom?"

Sitting on the porch under a tin roof when it's raining.

My favorite...that and standing on the same porch watching a thunderstorm brew and felling the wind in my face.

Oh..and playing golf with the Prof, his brother and cousin from Northern Ky.. a good laugh (or 4-5 hours worth of good laughs in this case) is the cure all for all life's woes.
